Lockdown —Sept. 13, 2014

Added more exile permanents in place of lifegain to secure the board more. I now have most holes covered and it is becoming increasingly difficult to make cuts for new cards.

Keep recommending, though.

Thanks for the compliment mistyman31. Let me know any changes you'd make, as I've not bought into it yet.

personally i don't like rune-tail as a commander. just because i would feel just dirty playing it. but overall it looks like a pretty good deck

boardwipes and ramp!

logansullivan you want "dirty" I can't evan look at Serra Ascendant without feeling like I need a shower lol but I'm suggesting it for this "dirty" white deck

Love it. Just wish it wasn't a dirty price. Thanks, Kozelek. When my wallet can afford it.

Something else you mite like (mite not idk) is Winding Canyons so you can "sneak" out things like your Felidar Sovereign at the end of you opponents turn after they tap out of mana and can't counter/path it before you win (reason I say canyons over Vedalken Orrery (witch you could run too/instead) is that the canyons is a land and thus does not take up a spell or creature spot but a land spot and being mono white you can afford to run some colorless lands for utilities. Oh hay you don't have Temple of the False God or Sol Ring in here, add those as well

June 3, 2014 5:04 p.m.

I play a mono white Avacyn deck as my main EDH deck, Pentarch Paladin and True Conviction are both amazing and I recommend you running both of those in any mono white deck...

Thanks garrettlstewart. I will endeavor to find a place.

Ring of Thune is cheap and useful.

Bubble Matrix might be fun in this deck (you really need to outnumber your opponents for it to be effective).

Springjack Shepherd gives you a bunch more creatures (and goats are funny).

Wall of Glare is nice with your boss out.

I would consider a Soul Foundry just for the combo with Mangara of Corondor or Wall of Reverence

In most commander games (that I have played anyway) lifelink isn't nearly as important as having a boardwipe or two.

Its my Rune-tail deck, but its also Tribal, I don't usually play white, so I decided to do Mono-white and have fun with it.
The decks runs ridiculously well aside from having no real win condition. I used to run some Soul Sisters tech but with them being so small, they usually didn't contribute much in a competitive environment. Dolmen Gate I actually took out, I always dead drew into it.
Mana Tithe , Karmic Justice , and whatever rocks and mana related thing I have in my deck you might want to look into.

Thanks carpecanum. That was comprehensive.

Do you know any one-sided board wipes, or ones that wouldn't affect mine?Since the point with Rune Tail is that the creatures stick around. Wrath of God would defeat that purpose.

Oooh! Dorotheus, thank you. I've been looking for that counterspell. I'll check your deck over.

Have you thought about Luminarch Ascension ? It's one of my favorite white cards for EDH.

June 10, 2014 1:21 p.m.

DavidBray says... #15

It is a nice one Balbrecht. I saw it always being shocked into uselessness. Is that not the case?

Witchbane Orb will stop "shocking"

DavidBray says... #17

Good point, Kozelek. Steered away from leyline for price reasons

June 10, 2014 3:11 p.m.

Balbrecht says... #18

I guess it just depends on your play group. Around here, we have a lot of control type decks, so one can typically get the ascension off. It might take a couple rotations around the table, but it can be frightening if/when it does.

But you're right, if you're playing even one burn player, it's very hard to do.

Of all the commanders I've ever played, Rune-Tail is perhaps one of my weakest as an individual piece, and also the most consistent. Turn 3 every game flipped instantly.

Then someone plays Aura Shards and follows with Avenger of Zendikar then I lose everything...hahaha.

Love playing this deck. I have a slightly different (less political) version if you want to take a look for suggestions. Runetail's Good Stuff

Have you thought about cards like Angelic Accord or Thraben Doomsayer to provide more tokens for your cards like Honor of the Pure and Glorious Anthem to use? Also I'm no where near a pro, just something I've thought about

msms554 those are great recommendations. I'll try and find a place

Use Eight-and-a-Half-Tails as your commander. It essentially does the same thing but removal is useless as well. Also adds all of your opponents quitting as an alternate win condition (that wasn't a joke).
