Maybeboard

This is a bant deck, circulating around flicker/blink effects that trigger Enter the Battlefield (ETB) effects. The deck has multiple combos and win conditions that include overloading the board with clones, tokens, controlling the board state. The deck is very versatile which can be both a blessing and a curse as it means the deck doesn't have many exact win conditions but it can also adapt to many different games and playgroups. It's more of a mid-range deck as it sometimes has troubles establishing the correct board state in the early game. Below is a summary of the strategies for each card in the deck.

Always looking for new additions or suggestions. At the moment, the weakest links are: Momentary Blink, Flicker, Spellskite. Maybe Kodama's Reach or Cultivate for ramp? Need to make room for Crystal Shard.

I'm changing several cards and will update the list when I've received them: (Turn to Mist -> Disallow), (Terramorphic Expanse or Stunt Double -> Seedborn Muse), (Momentary Blink? -> Mana Drain), Going to try to make room for Craterhoof Behemoth

    Creatures
  • Acidic Slime- ETB Creature. Good to tutor out for artifact/Enchantment removal. An underrated benefit is the land removal.
  • Avenger of Zendikar- ETB Creature. Bounce him to create an army of plant tokens. Synergizes really well with Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite to give the tokens an immediate boost. You can use Defense of the Heart to get them both out at the same time.
  • Brago, King Eternal- Great way to bounce all your creatures on the board.
  • Bramble Sovereign- Make copies of creatures to trigger multiple etb effects. Synergizes great with Panharmonicon. An interesting combo I've found is to pay the two mana when an opponent has a legendary creature coming into the field. The opponent gets a token of the legendary creature, but because of the legend rule, the original creature is destroyed. The token can then be flickered with Flicker or a similar card to destroy it.
  • Clever Impersonator- Clone a creature to get double etb effects, or another nonland permanent for utility purposes like Sol Ring for additional ramp, Aura Shards for additional artifact/enchantment removal. He can then be bounced and the target changed.
  • Coiling Oracle- ETB creature. Ramp/draw capabilities.
  • Deadeye Navigator- ETB Enabler
  • Duplicant- ETB creature. It exiles as opposed to destroys, so gets rid of indestructible creatures.
  • Eldrazi Displacer- ETB Enabler. Can also bounce opponents creatures to keep them in summoning sickness if need be. Usually I'd use that for an opponent's eldrazi or something like that.
  • Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite- To be hoenst, she really only synergizes directly with Avenger of Zendikar. But she does give all your creatures a boost, while severely hurting all opponent's board states, sort of acting like a mini board wipe for weaker creatures. Her primary use is to bolster attack, weaken enemies, and create an immediate problem that opponents must respond to, often allowing me more time to establish a more dominant board state.
  • Eternal Witness- ETB creature. Such a good etb effect because it can fetch any card from the graveyard, not just creatures.
  • Farhaven Elf- ETB creature. Land Ramp.
  • Fauna Shaman- Creature tutor
  • Geist of Saint Traft- Honestly doesn't have much synergy in this deck, but I have a soft spot for the card and it's rarely ever a card I regret playing. With such a low mana cost, you can cast it early and it presents opponents with an immediate problem.
  • Gilded Drake- ETB Creature. This is an All-Star card for this deck as it helps steal any creature from opponents, and can be blinked with cards like Roon of the Hidden Realm or Flicker to get it back and steal more.
  • Glen Elendra Archmage- Utility Creature. Great card to put on the board to deter counters/removal/buffs,etc. After using her once and her Persist effect kicks in, she can be bounced to reset that effect. She synergizes well with Spellskite to make it difficult for opponents to hurt you.
  • Ixidron- ETB Creature. An incredible board wipe that can temporarily get rid of commanders and bypasses indestructible and hexproof effects.
  • Karmic Guide- ETB Creature. Great because she puts the creature directly onto the battlefield as opposed to back into your hand.
  • Palace Jailer- ETB Creature. Not many people in my playgroup account for Monarch effects, so this card essentially exiles creatures permanently when bounced.
  • Phyrexian Metamorph- Similar to Clever Impersonator, you can use it to clone more than just creatures, also artifacts. Another benefit is the Phyrexian mana symbol as it allows you to conserve mana in casting it.
  • Progenitor Mimic- ETB Creature. A great clone that creates another clone token. Can be bounced to clone other ETB creatures and make tokens.
  • Restoration Angel- ETB Creature. Instant-speed ETB Enabler.
  • Snapcaster Mage- ETB Creature. Instant-speed spell recursion.
  • Solemn Simulacrum- ETB Creature. Ramp and card draw.
  • Spellskite- Helps to shield and redirect many effects and spells.
  • Spike Weaver- Very underrated fog effect that can buy a lot of time and comes in handy every time I play it. When some of the counters have been used, it can be bounced to reset the number of counters.
  • Stunt Double- Instant-speed clone to trigger ETB effects or provide a clone blocker if an opponent is attacking with a big creature.
  • Sun Titan- ETB creature. Recalls 3 CMC permanent cards from the graveyard. Can be a good win condition if bounced enough times and used correctly.
  • Thragtusk- ETB Creature. All-star ETB creature that does so much because it has effects that trigger both when it enters and leaves the battlefield. Synergizes great with Bramble Sovereign and Panharmonicon.
  • Wood Elves- ETB Creature. Land Ramp.
    Instants
  • Bant Charm- Utility card. This and Darksteel Mutation are the best ways in the deck to deal with commanders.
  • Cloudshift- Low-cost ETB Enabler.
  • Cyclonic Rift- One of the best board wipes if overloaded. If you can't afford to wait until you can pay the overload cost, it's a decent card to help trigger an ETB effect or buy time by returning an opponent's permanent to hand.
  • Eerie Interlude- The best ETB Enabler in the deck as it is instant-speed, and can help save all of your creatures if a board wipe is played.
  • Eladamri's Call- Low-cost tutor.
  • Enlightened Tutor- Low-cost tutor, usually played at the end of the opponent's end step that comes before your draw phase so that you can ensure you draw the artifact/enchantment that you want. Usually I tutor out Aura Shards or Defense of the Heart, but it can be used to tutor out whatever you need.
  • Momentary Blink- ETB Enabler that has flashback so it can be used at least twice.
  • Mystical Tutor- Low-cost tutor that is played the same way as Enlightened Tutor. The cards I tutor out the most are Bribery, Supreme Verdict, or additional removal in specific cases.
  • Path to Exile- Exile removal.
  • Render Silent- Great counter that can buy time by keeping an opponent from casting spells for a turn.
  • Sphinx's Revelation- Card Draw.
  • Swords to Plowshares- Exile removal.
  • Turn to Mist- ETB Enabler, can also be used on an opponent's creature if needed.
    Sorcery
  • Bribery- Best used when opponents are tapped out, because this card gets countered more than any other card in the deck. A player in my playgroup uses eldrazi, so I'll typically cast this to grab one of them.
  • Flicker- ETB Enabler, can also target opponent's creatures if needed.
  • Rite of Replication- Best used when you can pay its overload cost as it creates a ton of creatures and can trigger a ton of ETB effects. Can also target opponent's creatures, so you can use on one of them if they have a better creature out.
  • Supreme Verdict- One of the best board wipes in the game. A cool combo is casting Eerie Interlude, then Supreme Verdict to save all of your creatures and trigger their ETB effects.
  • Wargate- It's fairly high-cost compared to the other tutors, but is great because it allows you to tutor any card type.
    Enchantments
  • Aura Shards- Amazing artifact/enchantment removal that synergizes really well with the deck because creatures should always be coming into play under your control.
  • Carpet of Flowers- Situational ramp. In my play group, almost everyone plays blue, so it's often a really powerful ramp card for low-cost.
  • Darksteel Mutation- Best used on opponent's win condition creatures and commanders.
  • Defense of the Heart- Probably my favorite tutor in the deck as it's fairly low-cost for what it does and it put ANY two creatures in the deck out onto the battlefield. Usually I choose Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite and Avenger of Zendikar.
  • Oblivion Ring- Great removal. Can be redirected with Flicker.
  • Rhystic Study- Really great card draw. But if you play this, get ready for being the annoying guy at the table going "Do you pay one for that?"
  • Survival of the Fittest- Basically a better version of Fauna Shaman as it is protected a little bit better from removal.
    Artifacts
  • Birthing Pod- A great tutor engine that triggers ETB effects, while letting you work up to high-cost creatures without needing to pay for their mana costs.
  • Chromatic Lantern- Ramp, Mana fixing.
  • Conjurer's Closet- One of the best ETB Enablers as it guarantees a free trigger once per turn after it is cost. Opponents will usually use artifact removal on the other artifacts.
  • Panharmonicon- Great synergy as it makes every ETB effect trigger twice. As mentioned before, synergizes very well with Bramble Sovereign.
  • Sensei's Divining Top- Card draw, helps to regulate tempo of the game by allowing you to fix your hand.
  • Sol Ring- Ramp
