Wurms. They are often overlooked for "cooler" less "gross" creatures, but lets think about the great wurms of history. The Sarlaac from Star Wars, the mighty Shai Hulud from Dune, and, of course, Earthwurm Jim. They are the commonmans sliver and far less standoffish then dragons.

So you have a handful of these giant creatures, now what?

Main Goal

Main goal is cheat these beasts into play using Cryptic Gateway, Deathrender, Belbe's Portal and Mayael the Anima .

Love Your Wurms

Bow of Nylea and stack counters.

Nylea, God of the Hunt herself gives your wurm army trample.

Trostani, Selesnya's Voice gives you a lot of life and lets you copy your wurm tokens.

Miracle Grow

Bounce Lands, Mana Dorks, and a few Mana Rocks help your mana base so you can hard cast your wurms if you get into a pinch. We are in 3-Colors so we get access to 3 signets for mana fixing.

If a wurm can devour Boba Fett, they can handle anything an opponent has to throw at you.

Changes and Cuts

One of the main goals of this deck is to have a cool, slightly jank theme. I have desperately tried to keep it at $100 which is a decent budget price. However with the way certain card prices are going I have had to make edits. If you feel like spending the extra cash or already have the cards, throw them in, but for now the following are out of this decks budget: Caged Sun,Coat of Arms,Thran Dynamo. I mean come on you know its bad when you can't find Cultivate and Kodama's Reach for less than $1...

A few other cuts are just cards that I fell don't do the job as well as others: Novablast Wurm, Spearbreaker Behemoth , and Legion's Initiative are all still great, and were tough to cut but they needed to go.

Recent Additions

Thankfully the new sets have given us some cool cards and dropped the price on others. Domri Rade is at an awesome price right now, if you can grab him fast! He is a work horse in this deck... Or should I say work wurm... Ok bad puns over. With the addition of Almondcat even Nicol Bolas now has mad respect for wurms. Sandwurm Convergence was something moment I knew I had to find a place for it in here.

Mana Fixing and Ramp

Harvest Season is very interesting, I don't know if it will do as well with this decks higher CMC, but its cheap and a good card.

Making a budget mana base has been tricky, I am moving away from SO many lands entering tapped. It throws the tempo off and when your hand is full of giant wurms, you can fall behind pretty quick. So the lands like Karoo are out. We are now running the cheap pain lands like Battlefield Forge and Karplusan Forest, the Tango lands Cinder Galde and Canopy Vista, as well as the Shadow lands Fortified Village and Game Trail. As always if you have upgraded lands throw them in, these are just for people playing on a tight budget.

I have also been working on the ramp and CMC of the deck and have added a few mana dorks for hard casting: Naga Vitalist , Shaman of Forgotten Ways, and Zhur-Taa Druid are all in the deck now. As well as Burgeoning, Cryptolith Rite, and Zendikar Resurgent to help you out.

Other Changes

As far as cheating creatures out Champion of Rhonas and Descendants' Path are both in our price range.

I also added Rhonas's Monument because so much of this deck is green creatures.

Lastly, I put in a few more additions to make game play more smooth.

Samut, Voice of Dissent I think has ALOT of potential in here.Beastmaster Ascension needs to be in every creature heavy deck.Fires of Yavimaya cheap haste enabler, and can give creatures a boost.Decimate is an awesome way of getting your big threats off the board.Heroic Intervention when you finally cast everything and someone drops a wrath, you will be ready.Shamanic Revelation nets you card draw and huge life. Need I say more.
