Introduction

Sigarda, Heron's Grace , is a powerful commander, the hexproof she gives you and human creatures you control makes a powerful built-around theme that makes you want to go wide and hit hard in a more "fair deck" strategy.

Primarily the goal of this deck is to build a decent board of small humans that do not pose a large threat by themselves. This makes politics easy, as you basically just have to make your humans seem like they are not worth blowing up to kill spells.

You then want to use this board with cards like True Conviction in order to survive the critical turns that games often boil down to.

I will divide up the list in this primer to accommodate the different strategies and purposes of each card.

The Manabase

Since we are in dual colors, we can actually play a lot of basics in addition to some duals and be pretty consistent.

Some of the outliers are:

Cavern of Souls : With this card, you will be naming either Humans, or Angels, as we are tribal, typically you will want your humans to be uncounterable, but sometimes a protected Sigarda is needed.

Emeria, The Sky Ruin : We play a TON of plains and duals that also count towards being plains, the later recursion is also great.

Gavony Township : One of GW's main strategies is just to be bigger than everyone else, and Township often plays a huge role in making this happen.

Mana Ramp

Coldsteel Heart , Mind Stone , Pearl Medallion , Selesnya Signet , Sol Ring , Star Compass , Talisman of Unity , Rampant Growth : These are all basic mana ramp spells and rocks, they are things you want to play a few of in order to play big things faster than your opponents.
