Commander / EDH Mono-Green

Basic concept is sort of a typical +1/+1 counter and proliferate type deck. Obviously it's not very strong since it's, well... bears. Win cons with a deck like this are kind of hard to come by. You want to play the deck very aggro and try to win quickly. Winning by commander damage is actually not that unreasonable. You're definitely not going to pull off a big "I kill everyone at once" type thing very often so be prepared to be the target of the opponents after removing 1 person. To be honest, expect to be taking 2nd at best in any game where you're facing even a B to B+ tier deck.

Now that I've sufficiently gotten your hopes crushed; here is how to play the deck.

Key cards:

Ayula, Queen Among Bears duh. Unfortunately this is a deck that is very very based on it's commander so expect it to be targeted. Thankfully she is very cheap to get out.

Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma when you first drop a bear you typically want to give the 2 +1/+1 counters to Ayula but after that most of your bears will be entering as 4/4s. Goreclaw will give them +1+1 and the all important Trample. His ability to lower the cost of 4 power creatures doesn't do much for bears but there are 10 other creatures in the deck power 4 or more.

Evolution Sage easy proliferate is gold in this. You're gonna have a ton of counters on cards.

Chameleon Colossus very much a win-con card. It enters as a 6/6 that you can pay 4 to make a 12/12 and every bear makes him scarier. Equip him with either Sword of Truth and Justice or Loxodon Warhammer help him get through.

The Great Henge by stacking triggers every bear will enter as a 4/4 drawing you a card. It's quite possible to drop this on turn 4 by playing Alpine Grizzly, Dragon-Scarred Bear or having a Sol Ring. Turn 5 is very likely.

Triump of the Horde a big win con.

Colossal Majesty / Elemental Bond are important to refill your hand. Most of the deck is very inexpensive to play so you will likely run out of cards very quickly.

Here are some tricks of the trade to play.

Words of Wilding is better than you'd expect. The deck has a lot of stuff that draws you a card and it combos with Elemental Bond to allow you to make as many bears as you have mana if you stack the triggers in a certain way.

Here is how to do it: 1. Play a bear from your hand. 2. Use Ayula, Queen Among Bears to give that bear 2 +1/+1 counters on ETB 3. Elemental Bond sees the bear as a 4/4 and triggers to draw a card 4. Words of Wilding says you can pay 1 instead of drawing to make a 2/2 bear token 5. You create a 2/2 bear and Ayula, Queen Among Bears puts 2 +1/+1 counters on it triggering Elemental Bond 6. Rinse and repeat until out of mana.

Due to the very cheap cost of bears Temur Sabertooth essentially reads "2GG: Put 2 +1/+1 counters on target bear or target bear fights another creature you don't control." Simply bounce a bear and replay it.

Llanowar Reborn don't use it's first counter, instead repeatedly proliferate the counter so you can use it whenever a creature comes into play.

Cauldron of Souls might seem like an odd choice but because Ayula lets you put +1/+1 counters on bears it removes persist's weakness and turns Cauldron into a perfect anti board wipe artifact. Just make sure that with one of the ETB triggers you give the +1/+1 counters to Ayula since her ability doesn't trigger on herself.
