Kazarov Sengir is a statesman. He wouldn't come down to where the peasants mingle. No he sits high up in his tower, behind his walls, raining fire and death from on high, and each wound he sees the vile peasants and their protectors incur lifts him higher!

This is/was a budget brew that's a Voltron/group slug deck with a lot of ways to control the creature situation on the battlefield. I originally brewed it to be <$50 total, but have since exceeded that with some tweaks. There are lots of cards in the deck designed to pump Kazarov right away. Since he's flying he's got some evasion, but there are other ways to get him through as well including many that synergize with pumping him up. You can make it so nothing can block, or just wipe the board of other creatures. Since this is a budget deck, there are lot of notable cards missing, especially in the Voltron archetype in which this deck finds itself. I built this deck for a budget challenge and couldn't afford to include some of the default equipment and auras that protect and give evasion to Kaz. However, there are several instants to try to protect him from removal and it has been pointed out to me before that you can actually screw up an opponents plans more by surprising them with sudden indestructibility than by giving them time to plan to remove your equipment/aura or whatever. Still, the deck is definitely vulnerable to Kaz getting killed, especially since he's 7 CMC. If that happens, Sengir, the Dark Baron or Yahenni, Undying Partisan are your backups. What can I say, this is a budget deck. I'm not sure that this deck would ever be worth taking the budget chains off since your not going to get it to be too much more powerful but perhaps I'll try that someday.
