Get big mana - make big Fireballs by Proliferating our mana-rocks. Get to ~10 mana and then either double it with Pyromancer's Goggles or an untap-affect on the big mana rocks. Or both!

As far as 'deal x to face' goes we have quite a few options depending on flavor or counterplay you face at your table, multiplayer, hit creatures etc. Here's a table I composed to help sort them out myself and what ~10 mana gets you.

As you can see, the classic 'big x spell' (according to my nostalgia) Fireball doesn't shape up too good with newer flexible cards like Comet Storm and Crackle with Power. It's still the biggest in my heart however.
