I created my first deck several years ago when the persistent petitioners first released. I always liked mill as a strategy and fell in love with the persistent advisors. The name of the game was simple. Play Persistent Petitioners and mill the opposition by turning your board sideways. I had some enchantments that could help speed up the mill process. If I was lucky and got Laboratory Maniac or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries in hand, perhaps I could mill myself and quickly draw out. The problem was my games were consistently fun, BUT I was never a threat to more than one individual at a time.

SO I have now decided to move away from Mono-Blue and adopt in the Power of Black! With Araumi of the Dead Tide as my commander, milling myself now gives me my combos quicker. It also allows me to not target one individual at a time. I can choose to offensively mill, but I can wait to do that till I know its beneficial as my first few mills each game will be on myself for fuel.

Full Deck Mill Combo: Fleet Swallower + Fraying Sanity or Fraying Sanity + Traumatize

Continuous Mill and Zombie Combo: Intruder Alarm + Persistent Petitioners + Undead Alchemist

Draw out: Jace, Wielder of Mysteries + Laboratory Maniac

3 Sacrifices each opponent: Araumi of the Dead Tide + Fleshbag Marauder

Each opponent discards multiple cards: Araumi of the Dead Tide + Elvish Doomsayer + Mindleech Ghoul

This is still very much a Work in Progress. My color balance is off as I have lots of old blue mill favorites, and have yet to really buy into some good black mill staples.
