Persistent Milling - Pauper

Enchantment (2)

Hello MTG community, its your friendly local mill player here with a pauper list

If it isn't painfully obvious from my other decks, I LOVE milling. Without a doubt my favourite way of winning games, the look on an opponent's face as they watch their precious deck get chucked straight into the bin before they can play their cards is just so satisfying. Maybe I am a sadist, but that's a problem for another day. In the meantime, here is a list I cooked up for my pauper games. I also adore pauper as a format because I have absolutely zero money so I figured why not combine my favourite things, pauper and glorious milling.

I remember seeing Persistent Petitioners on their release and just being filled with awful awful ideas for decks but truth be told, I never got round to it. But seeing as they are commons and pauper only allows commons, lets have some fun :P

The main goal here is to spam out petitioners, all of our creatures will be petitioners and we will have a heavy creature base for a blue deck. We will also be splashing black in because it isn't a good mill deck without a bit of black splashed in. It's primarily going to be used for removal but we can have some pretty decent mill effects with black too.

Why these specific choices?

Persistent Petitioners => pretty obvious

Curse of the Bloody Tome => extra milling is always fun, and cursing your opponent is always a good laugh

Disfigure => great pauper removal especially for smaller things like faeries and delvers, will not work on angler though

Mind Sculpt => I remember asking ages ago about pauper mill and being told there wasn't much support for it, I then discovered this card and realized those people didn't know what they were talking about. It hits a fair whack of cards for 2 mana

Psychic Strike => Counterspell , now with added milling!

Thought Scour => nice little cantrip which will mill my opponent for good measure

Tragic Slip => normally not a great card but works really nicely as a revenge for one of my petitioners dying

The Sideboard

I am still working on sideboarding for this deck and I will definitely need to tweak this after some tests. The petitioner's make this a pretty expensive deck to make in regards $$$ so it will be a long time until I can get my hands on it. Counterspell is definitely something I am going to add in at some point
