This is deck three of six in my commander box. I really like that this deck manages to take two themes and mishmash them together into something cohesive.

The deck's main focus is a graveyard reanimation strategy. We can get creatures into the graveyard from our hand by discarding them with cards like Tomb Robber, Anvil of Bogardan, and Key to the City. We also have many ways to put creatures directly into our graveyard from our library, such as Buried Alive, Jarad's Orders, and Entomb. We can then get those cards back with effects like Reanimate, Stitch Together, and Animate Dead.

Once our graveyard is sufficiently stacked, we can cast our commander to get a very big bug with a slew of keywords. The reason this matters so much is because of the commander damage rule: once a player takes 21 combat damage from a commander, they lose the game. We can rack up damage quickly because of how large Kathril gets and how hard he is to get rid of.

Because our commander likes keywords so much, we really want to get cards with good keywords (and several of them) into the graveyard before we cast Kathril. The best targets to put in the graveyard are Zacama, Primal Dawn, Vampire Nighthawk, and Avacyn, Angel of Hope.

My favorite cards in this deck are Riftsweeper and Pull from Eternity. One of the biggest counters to graveyard strategies is exile effects, and these cards allow us to get back some of our heavy hitters like Zetalpa, Primal Dawn, Avacyn, Angel of Hope, and Elder Gargaroth.
