Mana burn isn't too much of a thing any more, but I wanted to bring it back. Lands == pain.

My deck focuses on having creatures, like Birds of Paradise, Elvish Mystic, Leyline Prowler, Zhur-Taa Druid and etc., and artifacts, like Hedron Archive, Dreamstone Hedron, Sol Ring, and etc., that generate mana on tap rather than lands. I have cards that allow my unspent mana to be banked so I will not take damage from Yurlok of Scorch Thrash like, Horizon Stone, Leyline Tyrant, and Omnath, Locus of Mana.

Cards that punish people for having untapped lands: Stoneshaker Shaman and Citadel of Pain.

Cards that punish people for tapping lands: War's Toll, Overabundance, Manabarbs, and Burning Earth.

Cards that punish for lands in general: Zo-Zu the Punisher and Power Surge.

Interesting things to protect myself from land pain and other useful things: The Gitrog Monster, Squirrel Wrangler, and Lord Windgrace.
