This is an idea I've been thinking about ever since I saw a few cards come out for Ravnica Allegiance. At this point, it's just an idea with a few core cards, thus why the odd format. The goal is to use
Teysa Karlov
's abilities to generate a ton of value from death triggers. Now, Orzhov has plenty of great cards with their afterlife mechanic, but no reason to stop there! We can go one of two ways:
1) Add green for two main cards:
Poison-Tip Archer
lets us get even more value out of our afterlife creatures, while being a very nice blocker itself. Trostani is also a great mid-late game drop, as she will buff all of our flying tokens, giving us a suprising amount of power on the board.
2) Add red for more aggression: judith, the courge Diva is a great include here. Similar to above, she generates extra value from our creatures dying, and actually pumps all of our creatures, making our spirits 2/1's with flying. Red also gives us access to a few other possibilities, such as a more aggressive 1-drop in
Footlight Fiend
, and possibly
Heroic Reinforcements
, which has proven itself an excellent finisher in aggro decks.
These lists are not intended to be fully playable decklists (cards I deem sure includes are at 4 copies, other possibilities are only at a 1). As you will notice they contain no removal, as they are intended only to put forth some ideas. Let me know what you think in the comments!
