Space Ork in a Can

An Ork in an Assault Suit, Ghazghkull is a heavy metal warlord and mighty prophet of the WAAAGH! (war on an apocalyptic scale). He is the single most influential Ork in the galaxy in the 41st Millennium, and billions of Greenskins march to war in his name.

The most dangerous Ork alive craves his Assault Suit to amplify damage and Worldslayer to wipe the battlefield in this 40K themed voltron deck.

"They can't block if they're dead."- Ghazghkull, probably

Ork

  1. Ramp.
  2. Play the Ork.
  3. Put him in a can using equipment like Assault Suit, Worldslayer, and Sunforger. Play Champion's Helm or other protection equipment first if at all possible.
  4. Wrath, attack, protect the Ork.

Spork

  1. Commander damage. Accelerated by Assault Suit and Worldslayer.
  2. Revel in Riches. Supported by 20 board wipes and a treasure subtheme.

Fortune

  • You prefer to play your commander in every game.
  • You like board control and playing for the win aggressively.
  • You enjoy playing a combat deck with a built in protection and removal.
  • Warhammer 40K and sci-fi fantasy themes are appealing to you.
  • You dislike playing your commander in every game.
  • You prefer ramp or card advantage in the command zone.
  • You don't enjoy board control gameplay.
  • Support. Half the deck is dedicated to playing Zurgo early, protecting him, and clearing the battlefield of blockers.
  • Balance. Some control decks lack inevitability and some aggressive decks lack sustainability. This deck is built for both.
  • Resilience. Assault Suit and Worldslayer can run away with the game without knocking out one opponent at a time. Revel in Riches is an excellent alternate win condition to commander damage in a wrath deck.
  • Speed. 5 mana commander + mana to protect him demands ramp.
  • Limited card advantage solutions.
  • Edicts & counterspells.

Multi-mode
With land and ramp requirements being on the higher side in this deck, cards are chosen for having multiple modes like increasing commander damage, evasion, protection, ramp, and card draw.

One example is The Reaver Cleaver which outperforms Loxodon Warhammer because in addition to the evasion and added commander damage that both provide, it also adds treasure for more ramp or adds to the Revel in Riches win condition.

The same is true for Black Market Connections and Smuggler's Share which are repeatable card advantage sources that also ramp or add to the Revel in Riches win condition. Better than just a one time Sign in Blood or a single-use ramp card.

Velocity
Card advantage is always a puzzle for Mardu() decks. Here the deck is trying to use repeatable card draw as much as possible while limiting tutors to 4 that are for equipment only so that the deck power level stays low enough to play in more pods.

Creatures
20 board wipes feature in this deck so creatures we play either need to be indestructible or give us an advantage worth playing even if it dies immediately.
