Commander / EDH* austintayshus

Thraximundar is chosen! —Feb. 23, 2019

Thraximundar has been chosen to lead this deck to... probably not victory. Thanks to user: hkhssweiss for the suggestion!

Commander used to be Progenitus for sentimental reasons. Also, Progenitus allowed me to consider one-word cards in all colors. Strangely enough, I've had to take a instant/sorcery approach to this Thraximundar deck, as a lot of the good one-word cards tend to be instant and sorcery cards. That may be why about half the deck is blue.

Let me know if you have any suggestions on how to improve this deck, thanks!

Yo austintayshus, I love the jankiness of this idea. Out of the commander you listed I would actually think Thraximundar might be your best bet. There is definitely enough cards in the pool for one word cards that also can be useful. Grixis colors also give you plenty of options to work around with his ability. You have cards like Reanimate , Victimize , Necromancy for the recursion tech. Plaguecrafter , Vendetta , Damnation , Dismember for the removal tech. Card draw isn't that bad as you have cards like Ponder , Preordain , Brainstorm , Impulse , Windfall .

Going from there you also have strong protection package like Delay , Counterspell , Pyroblast , Flusterstorm , Dispel . Yeah the more I think about it Grixis is a pretty strong color for what your going for in addition to being pretty friendly on the budget as well.

Hope that helps!

Thanks hkhssweiss, this helps a lot! Thraximundar is probably my best choice. There are some white cards I really wanted to include like Rout and Terminus but I'll just have to deal with it.

No problem austintayshus! It's a fun idea definitely! Let me know how your deck list turns out and feel free to ask for any help!

Since you don't have access to the white board wipes there are other alternatives like Evacuation , Pestilence , Hellfire , Pyroclasm , Starstorm , Pyrohemia , Magmaquake , Inferno , and Earthquake .
