Another small update —Nov. 2, 2022

As much as I love the card, I've opted to drop Selvala's Stampede for the more reactive Chord of Calling.

Hey Kamerot

I count 3 or 4 humans in the deck. I see concordant crossroads + akromas is your haste outlet.

Kogla, the Titan Ape - Synergy with humans, artifact + creature removal. Potential for infinites --> Karametra's Acolyte (7+ devotion if im doing math right) + Kogla + Haste outlet = Infinite mana. Tap Karametra for 7, activate kogla for 2, 5 remaining. Use 4 of the 5 to recast karametra, floating 1.

It also synergizes with Ley Weaver, if you have enough devotion via nykthos, creatures via cradle, or ashaya out with a huge creature generator like selvala + ashaya, you can use kogla to bounce ley after tapping it for a lot of mana, recast it, use your extra mana to repeat (as long as you have haste outlet).

Kogla is good on it's own, also synergizes well with eternal witness. All of this gets better with Yeva on field as a means to surprise opponents.

I'm a big fan of kogla and ram him for a short while, but never got him out in a game. I do plan on testing him again in the near future though. I'll probably wait until after the new dominaria set drops to see if anything good comes from it and start my testing then.

Aside from war pride and frostfang, can you tell me what you love most about your commander?

Favorite synergies such as holding up mana in response to wipe. Politics to destroy opposing lands. etc..... Tell me anything and everything. I'm seriously considering Kamahl for my Azusa deck and wanted to ask you, who better, for any potential strengths, particularly those hidden beneath the surface.

Holding mana in response to a board wipe either as a threat of blowing lands or doing it in response, is a fantastic feeling. What I truly like about him though is both of his abilities are instant speed, so it really has to make your opponents think how they handle their turn, because with kamahl on the field, you're always a threat. It also helps with things like Defense of the Heart, because you can make an opponent has 3 creatures no Matter what. With my playgroup, everyone has stated how they have to play differently when they play against kamahl, because at any turn, you can just pop off out of nowhere. It's a fun feeling. I hope that helps answer what you were looking for.

LD is always fun, thats my main reason for including him.

OMG DEFENSE OF THE HEART! Lmao! Thats such a cute, interesting and unique synergy!

Is there anything else you recommend with him? Like, would you ever cast him without holding up mana?

I have and it is really dependent on the decks you're playing what they have on the field. There's been times where I needed a body either for Devotion or Cradle and wasn't drawing into anything so I've put him out there. I tend not to unless I can hold up enough mana to protect him or at least bluff being able to protect him until my next turn though. Other fun stuff I've used as a reason to turn lands into creatures is Noxious Ghoul, you can wipe out the zombie players lands and stop them dead in their tracks.

This deck actually makes me want to find my niece and piledrive her into a box of safety pins (with the safety off).

My niece is 34, and she's used to it by now.

You should really see how tough this cookie is, because she will NOT crumble under even the most pressure.

However, she is lactose intolerant, so white cow drippings is her only weakness.

And I mean ONLY weakness.

Watch out. She's coming. Do yourself a favor and buy a milk moat to ward her off. THANK you

Somehow I play tested this and got no mana for five turns. Does that happen often?

September 1, 2022 9:49 p.m.

Kamerot says... #13

zretrareo27 no it doesn't. In really rare cases you will get screwed mana wise, but that's every deck. Were you playtesting here on tappedout by chance? I've had horrendous luck playtesting on here.

Yep I was lol it was crazy, even once I got mana it was like... I didn't even have anything playable. Is there a better place to playtest?

You can export the deck to cockatrice if you play that, I can upload the list to moxfield as well.

I have never used that or moxfield, just getting back into it, last time I played regularly was 2017. Not a biggie though hah

Well I just have horrible luck. I tried the new one. Started with no mana in the hand, then it took me TWELVE turns to get a single mana??! I mean IRL I would probably have mulligan'd but depending on your play group rules that could be bad. I honestly wish I could screen shot this to you because it's hard to believe!!!! https://www.moxfield.com/decks/jtiMT5XFVEKx77LHmS5fuQ/goldfish Not sure if that will show you hah

That's weird, the deck doesn't generally have any mana issues.

It must be me, I just cause mana to sink to the bottom of decks.

Instead of promoting your deck on various popular decks without even providing a potential suggestion, wouldn't your time be better served simply posting your various decks in the tappedout forum? What way, more people would see it and you wouldn't annoy so many people simultaneously.

September 20, 2022 2:06 p.m.

This looks like an awesome deck to pilot. I'm curious about the lack of any mana rocks. Not even a sol ring in this list. Any particular reason?

September 24, 2022 7:36 p.m.

Profet93 says... #25

Probably because 1) Mono green 2) Elves provide the mana 3) Collect Ouphe
