Zendikar Rising —Sept. 28, 2020

Only one update for the time being.

Dropped: Kogla, the Titan Ape - in the months since I added this bad boy, I never once got him on the battlefield, so i can't miss what I've never used. I will hold onto him just in case because I love all of the utility he provides.

Added: Ashaya, Soul of the Wild - an absolute beast that protects against Cyclonic Rift and other removal that hits nonland permanents.

Engulfing Slagwurm for true Om Nom. It just has uber-deathtouch and heals you.

I actually ended up cutting it in this version of the deck for more utility. I ran it for years and really like the card. I need to do more playtesting with my budget version, But it will probably find a home in there.

Just curious, how come you run Fabled Passage, but not Prismatic Vista?

One of my best friends pulled a full art foil in his box of eldraine and we did a trade for it. Didn't cost me anything out of pocket.

Obscuring Haze > Spike weaver/spore frog? Or do you prefer them to be in creature form so you can tutor them and not an instant because of defense grid? I like it because its free interaction which is onesided unlike sporefrog and spikeweaker.

Conqueror's Flail > Defense grid? Same cmc, although you do need to pay equip costs and how they don't remove in response. But its a static effect instead of an additional tax in which they bypass the entire purpose. The boost is nice I suppose? I'm unsure myself

Profet93 as always, thanks for the suggestions.

Obscuring Haze - I love this card and just haven't taken the time to find a home for it yet. It will 100% find a home here eventually. I do prefer the creature based fog effects, but this card is too good to ignore forever. Especially in my meta.

Conqueror's Flail - I actually hadn't considered this card because I was avoiding equipment and auras. But the potential could be really good. Locking people out on my turn is a lot more useful than a small tax, especially late game. I'll have to give a test and see how it works.

Thanks again, both will see playtesting and more than likely spots in the deck very soon.
