War of the Spark —May 2, 2019

Made a small update for War of the Spark:

Dropped -

  • Ramunap Excavator - ended up not doing what I hoped it would do, was a dead draw most games in lieu of other creatures that made a significantly bigger impact.
  • Vivien Reid - She didn't play out like I had hoped, and ended up not casting her later on in testing for better options.

Added -

Love khamal. best wrath insurance green can buy.

"I cast Wrath of God !"

"I animate all your lands."

"..."

"one sided Armagedon isn't too funny, is it?"

odd card options you may not have considered:

Lost in the Woods provides recurring fog effect (although not consistantly), along with giving some tuck as needed

Spike Weaver + Forgotten Ancient offers a legged fog engine that replenishes itself

Fade into Antiquity may be slower than instant speed, but it exiles instead of tucking

Night Soil exiles as part of the cost, meaning that the creature removal cannot be responded to.

Predator, Flagship is a good colorless creature removal engine, and Arena is one of my mono green deck's MVPs

cross reference for my green deck if you are interested - No Meats Allowed

I ran Lost in the Woods in an earlier rendition of the deck and dropped it due to the inconsistency and constantly losing good cards to the bottom of my library.

I'm considering doing a build with Dosan the Falling Leaf , so Spike Weaver and Fade into Antiquity could definitely find spots.

Night Soil is interesting and I might play around with it. The upside to Scavenging Ooze is the potential lifegain and it can target noncreature cards. We have a Bruna deck that runs rampant some games and taking out a crap ton of enchantments out of that graveyard has been awesome.

Predator, Flagship is kinda neat, but really mana intensive, so I doubt it'll find a home here.

I do like Arena and will playtest it though. Thanks for the suggestions!

Gods Above! Stop being so damn popular! I'm over here just trying to find feedback for my deck and you walk in and take the spotlight! (This is a joke)

Honestly though, love the deck. +1 from me.

Thanks! I'll see what I can do about being a little more incognito, lol.

No worries. Just having a bit of fun seeing as how this deck was the precursor to my deck All 3, Really? That's Overkill

Honestly I looked at 3 things. This deck, Spawnsire of Ulamog and Primeval Titan . Lots of Ramp into a big creature taht has a HILARIOUS ending. All of a sudden i just thought that i could just make a deck out of it. I love anything Jank, so it was pretty easy to put together a good enough start to start getting attention.

Yep. I had a friend who did something kind of similar. it used walls, specifically Overgrown Battlement for the quick mana generation and protection from aggro decks. It's definitely fun to run rampant with green. Lol

I might just check that out. Because hitting Annihilator 50 along with an It That Betrays is soooo funny. And just a little bit broken.

Kamerot says... #11

Yes it is. My animar deck, I tossed in the combo of It That Betrays and Keldon Firebombers on someone's suggestion because of the lulz.

That sound dirty as f. Is this the Animar deck you talked about?: Animar's Wildlife Sanctuary? You know, the one I just upvoted?:)

Whoops wrong deck(I think). It had the same name. Still funny though. Right?

February 13, 2019 4:01 p.m.

Kamerot says... #14

Yeah, that's my animar deck. It's a fun build.

It's not under you name, Kamerot, so if you don't have a second account, or haven't given express permission you might want to look into that, if it matters to you.

That's because I went into your profile because owner of the linked deck is apparently Yuki_onna.

He has a deck of the same name. Just copied and pasted one of my old builds. At least he gave me credit.

Catpocolypse you nered to link his deck correctly in order to get his version, you might have missed a number or something at the end, lets see if this works: Animar's Wildlife Sanctuary yeah, this link works, use the following: 07-07-17-LvW-animar in the deck link. (07-07-17-LvW-animar is the deck name) and you are good.

I want the expedition foils. I've been dumping no st into a couple other decks first, then I'm gonna finish blinging Kamahl out and get those fetches.

March 4, 2019 8:27 p.m.

Kamerot says... #24

No. For this deck, I just prefer creature based ramp as opposed to artifact ramp due to Kamahl making those creatures lethal threats later in the game.
