Innistrad Midnight Hunt Crimson Vow update —Dec. 7, 2021

While there is a ton of new and interesting cards with both Innistrad sets, nothing really stood out to me for this deck. Markov Purifier, and Faithbond Judge seem interesting from Crimson Vow and The Meathook Massacre and Fateful Absence from Midnight Hunt, but I don't think right now that they do anything better than what is in the deck or I won't be able to utilize them to their potential and are opting for other cards. So, I will be taking out Dimir Doppelganger and be replacing it with Esper Sentinel. See the sentinel in play seems like it will be a good fit. I'm looking at trying to get Jace, Wielder of Mysteries into the deck. I will do more testing with the current build of the deck to see what isn't working like I thought. Thanks for all who have gave feedback on the deck!

Man nice build! I started building a more staxchantress style utilizing creature hate as a sub-theme while building around the life gain theme. It's still a work in progress but looks fun!

Thanks! Glad you liked it. Oloro has been my main deck since the release of the precon. There are a ton of different ways to build it. You can check out the other Oloro build #SorryNotSorry for a more staxy build than mine with a focus on enchantments.

Hello Ninja! I play in a playgroup where things like infinite loops, mass land destruction, and counters are a no-go. I really like the feel of your deck, and while I've reviewed your budget suggestions, any ideas on what to replace your instant win options and counter spells with?

Control is fine in our group, but we are casual enough that shutting down plays with counters seems to just ruin the fun for everyone. Stax, given that we also play more on a budget, isn't that oppressive in our games, so it's fine.

Hi Boki92! I personally wouldn't take this deck to a more casual setting, so it would be a good call removing some of those things. If you wanted to play a version of this by taking out some on the instant win combo's, you can lean more into the lifegain aspect and drain your opponent's like that. Cards like Cliffhaven Vampire and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose can help achieve that goal. Some more reanimation cards could also benefit it, maybe adding Sun Titan back in to recur low cmc cards. If countering spells is frowned upon, you can add more creature/artifact/enchantment removal if you want to keep the control aspect. You can definitely play around with the list by taking out the cards your group finds problematic and see what cards you like as replacements.

Appreciate the quick response, I will play with the list and make changes where needed.

All in all, great deck and write up!

Hi blpace!. As far as Midnight Hunt goes, not really. Still looking through Crimson Vow for cards right now. I like Markov Purifier at first glace, we will see once I have time to really look through it.
