Very nice deck I am currently thinking about building because I don't have a dedicated control deck in my arsenal at the moment.

What do you think about Aetherflux Reservoir in the deck, as you have many sources of life gain.

Thanks Granum. I have gone back and forth about adding Aetherflux Reservoir. The reason I haven't added it is yet is that I am not a dedicated life gain deck. With my focus being on control, I don't typically cast a lot of spells in a single turn to fully utilize the card. I am thinking about changing some aspects of the deck and testing some new things out, so it may be included after the possible changes. Thanks for the suggestion!

I see, thanks for the insight. I am really liking your decklist so far and would only change a few things based on my personal preference like including Smothering Tithe because I just love to play it along Rhystic Study! Also is there a reason you don't run Ancient Tomb as Oloro, Ageless Ascetic's ability mitigates the downside? As another way to win the game I would maybe run Approach of the Second Sun as it also provides a bit of lifegain but it also puts a target on you when you cast it first.

If you want to lean heavier into the lifegain archetype maybe include Fumigate instead of another board wipe you mentioned in possible cuts. And Test of Endurance as another win con in the lifegain scenario.

Just a few things I came up with and would like to hear your thoughts about, as I said overall I really like your control approach and will probably build the deck! Also I will run the Battlebond lands over the buddy lands as I exclusively play multiplayer games :)

Thanks Granum for the feedback. I was going to add the Smothering Tithe as part of the changes and actually updated the list to test it out. Great minds think alike :)

As for cards like Approach of the Second Sun and Test of Endurance, that are win more cards. They may work their way into the sideboard for card swaps against certain groups, but probably not into the main.

The Fumigate is a nice wrath, but I am reducing the total number of Wrath's as they more then often just take up a spot in your hand. May be a good swap for one of the others in a deck, but the cmc is high compared to other wrath's that do more. I may consider it in the future and will add it to the maybe board.

The only real reason I don't have Ancient Tomb in the deck is mostly due to the color intensive cards in the deck, though I might be putting it back in in the future with the new changes to the deck. Again thanks for the great suggestions!

hi, is it just me or does clicking on the combo/synergy part reveal no list? Like I thought there'd be a list of combos/synergies there but i see none

I am currently updating that part right now. So, you are correct about there being nothing there.

I had the same question as defending faith. This list is epic! It does great justice to how awesome of a card Oloro is. What do you think of incorporating a stoneforge mystic along with boots and a batterskull/jitte?

I see that you have this tagged as competitive. What is your win con? I also think you have a bit of a high avg cmc compared to most cEDH decks, so you may want to lower that. Lastly, with lifegain Ad Nauseam can get you a lot of cards real fast. There is a deck called bad farm that utilizes lifegain and ad nauseam that may give some ideas
