I was waiting for a reeeally long time for an Orzhov Commander who really takes value from lifegain and uses it for something.

I've put some budget friendly cards on this list (because I already have it and my playgroup doesn't have a very high power level), but you can use those cards on maybeboard instead.

It'll increase the power level of the deck considerably. Also, I don't like the dumb infinite combo that goes with Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, but if you like and want it, go ahead and put on the list in the place of Angel of Destiny.

And if you want to add a token subtheme to the deck, remove some ping by life gain redudancy and/or high CMC cards. Here some interesting options to include:
