Maybeboard

Encouragable little sprites, those wildlings who tempt our dreams & fill us full of mischief. For our sake, lets give them want they want... interrupting everyone's thoughts & schemes with Theft. xD

Jam any number of Flash mechanics to Spellsling to your little heart's desire. Aluren, Wilderness Reclamation (many of the Fae have Flash; Seedborn Muse should be the 1st Game Changer), Leyline of Anticipation, High Fae Trickster, Vedalken Orrery, Emergence Zone, Alchemist's Refuge. Why lean "big Elf ball" when you can torment mortals with ease. ;)

Speaking of trickery: This also works as an excellent proactive Clones deck. Many substitutes in the "Maybeboard" to multiply Maralen's effect (along with everything else). 'If you stare long enough at your reflection, your reflection starts staring back.'

Combos & Synergies (with a curve under 3cmc, 14 repeat/bomb Draw, & 14ramp + Wilderness Reclamation & Three Tree City, 30 Lands + 4mdfc = perfect!):

Machine God's Effigy + Devoted Druid (even better after Blight/Persist synergy cards added)

Villainous Wealth / Oona, Queen of the Fae as finishers or Springleaf Parade / Three Tree City with token maker to get there even without (∞) mana

Aluren + Faerie Impostor + Quickling (Glen Elendra Pranksters as backup & Door of Destinies for combat)

Ashaya, Soul of the Wild + Quirion Ranger / Scryb Ranger (and a source tapping for 2 like Joraga Treespeaker or a Bounce-land; Archmage of Echoes = overrun)

Haunted Onefoil + Tegwyll's Scouring (or any other stolen wipe)

Nymris, Oona's Trickster / Unwelcome Sprite + Haunting Voyage

Notorious Throng (10 Rogues + 2 token makers, Black Market Connections & Springleaf Parade) + Return of the Wildspeaker (either way = extra Power or extra pixies; can kill the table if Power finishes one & Obyra, Dreaming Duelist is in play before Throng 8))

Faerie Slumber Party / Notorious Throng / Springleaf Parade / Oona, Queen of the Fae + Beastmaster Ascension

Bala Ged Recovery   / Halo Forager to give the bombs another go (Kindred Summons / Return of the Wildspeaker + army / Haunting Voyage + filled [Surveiled] yard / Notorious Throng for the army / Season of Weaving for emergencies/decisive clones)

Mistbind Clique + Equilibrium (to lose friends :P)

Deadeye Navigator + Cloud of Faeries (plenty of other ETBs to exploit on top of the Maralen triggers)

Displacer Kitten + non-creature cast + a Tribal spell = use Maralen's Theft ability/cast multiple times per turn (also great with Halo Forager, Vendilion Clique & other ETBs; r.i.p. Paradox Engine ;) )

Milady's Protection: Revitalizing Repast   / Malakir Rebirth   / Dawnhand Dissident (avoid Commander Tax) / Lightning Greaves / Heroic Intervention / Scion of Oona / Haunted Onefoil + 7 counterspells

The Fairies (William Allingham)

Up the airy mountain, Down the rushy glen, We daren’t go a-hunting For fear of little men; Wee folk, good folk, Trooping all together; Green jacket, red cap, And white owl’s feather!

Down along the rocky shore Some make their home, They live on crispy pancakes Of yellow tide-foam; Some in the reeds Of the black mountain-lake, With frogs for their watchdogs, All night awake.

High on the hill-top The old King sits; He is now so old and grey He’s nigh lost his wits. With a bridge of white mist Columbkill he crosses, On his stately journeys From Slieveleague to Rosses; Or going up with music On cold starry nights, To sup with the Queen Of the gay Northern Lights.

They stole little Bridget For seven years long; When she came down again Her friends were all gone. They took her lightly back, Between the night and morrow, They thought that she was fast asleep, But she was dead with sorrow. They have kept her ever since Deep within the lake, On a bed of flag-leaves, Watching till she wake.

By the craggy hillside, Through the mosses bare, They have planted thorn trees For pleasure, here and there. Is any man so daring As dig them up in spite, He shall find their sharpest thorns In his bed at night.

Up the airy mountain, Down the rushy glen, We daren’t go a-hunting For fear of little men; Wee folk, good folk, Trooping all together; Green jacket, red cap, And white owl’s feather!

Fun Fact: Many modern staples were originally introduced in the Lorwyn Block (1st to have 4-sets), including Negate, Mirror Entity, Springleaf Drum, Thoughtseize & the Hideaway Lands

Tinkerbell: Say it, Peter. Say it and mean it. Peter Banning: I believe in fairies. Tinkerbell: You know that place between sleep and awake? That place where you still remember dreaming? [Peter nods] Tinkerbell: That's where I'll always love you... Peter Pan. That's where I'll be waiting. -(Hook) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vYNjHmJrFWQ
