Enchantment (3)

So These companions have really done a number on me. Every single deck I have brewed since the release of IKO have been within companion restrictions and most of them have been bad. Playing around with Cyclying, Burn, even aggro lists, and all have fallen short. Until today. Today I bring you a Diamond in the Rough, Obosh Mid-Range.

This list uses Obosh, the Preypiercer as it's companion so EVERY card in the list is ODD converted mana cost. Don't worry, we find ways to get around that downside using some synergies we will go over later, but let's talk a bit more about obosh for a second. This deck not only utilizes him as a companion, it REVOLVES around him. Every card has been chosen so that any time I can cast Obosh I get max value out of it. So keep that in mind when you look at the picks I have made for the deck.

So the main game plan of the deck is to use control and tempo swings to get into the late game, all the while casting creatures, all so the you can cast obosh from outside of the game to win on the spot.

The most impactful creatures you can cast before dropping your companion are Angel of Grace and Voracious Greatshark .
Both of these creatures have flash so they can be cast at the perfect time to ensure you get value out of obosh same turn he hits the battlefield. Not to mention both of these creatures deal TEN damage when they are doubled.
Angel is evasive and makes for a good blocker against most creatures all with the added bonus play of saving you for a last ditch obosh swing!!
Shark swings tempo, eats attackers, and grabs the occasionial KEY artifact *cough embercleave

The next card that should be commented on is The Royal Scions.
This can serve as reliable card advantage, sure, but the best thing scions does in the list is give a swinging creature +2 first strike and TRAMPLE to make obosh plays more versatile. Her ult can happen and when it does spells GG.

So as for the "playing on curve" i mentioned earlier, the adventure cards in the list are responsible for that.
Brazen Borrower bounces key permanents and swings for 6 on obosh turns (10 with scions)
Bonecrusher Giant deals with early creatures and pings for 4 or swing for 8 (12!) on obosh turns.

Opt and Shock are must includes in an ODD deck and both kind of are self explanitory. (4) lol

I included Elspeth Conquers Death mostly to ensure I can get obosh back in play if he is imediately dealt with upon cast.

The sideboard is still a work in progress, but it plays like a traditional mid range list that has a bit more OOMPH with the ability to close out the game in an instant/reliably in that obosh doubles damage! Drop a comment if you have any comments or suggestions.

hope you enjoy this IKO Spicy Brew.
