This is the list for my first functional Oathbreaker deck! I’m still putting together some of the pieces, but I’ve got a lot of the important ones already. Let me know what you think. I took out Rafiq of the Many and I’m wondering if that was a mistake since the only win condition is the defender attack in the mid or later game.

Rafiq, Settle the Wreckage, and Swords to Plowshares go to the sideboard for Safekeeping.

Call the Gatewatch, and Devious Cover-Up are out because Drift of Phantasms searches for 4 of the 6 none Oathbreaker walkers and Wargate finds the rest, and Cover Up is heavy and the role is already filled by Eternal Witness, Bond of Insight, and Primal Command. Drift also adds one more defender to synergize with the new addition of Arcades the Strategist, which is also why Rafiq is in the sideboard for now. Arcades joins the team because I realized Huatli doesn’t let defenders attack like High Alert and I need another way to make my defenders lethal as it’s the only real win con and the extra card draw could be nuts. Ajani the Greathearted is in to shore up the late game weakness of tapping defenders to attack, and gives us an alternate life outlet and a way to buff other walkers faster too.

Of exceptional note, thanks to TheSlowestBro I have learned of excellent oathbreaker tech I feel. Sorcerous Spyglass is in to hose opposing walkers primarily as a semi work around for not having color access to the glorious Elderspell. I also realized that Venser and Teferi’s Time Twist can blink it for extra etb effect. I forget a few spells I removed in favor of a few of theee, I know one was Cloudshift. Too bland and not enough etb focus as the prototype had.

At ThSlowestBro’s suggestion I’ll be testing some man land additions to the base and the vivid cycle to synergize with proliferate.
