No meats allowed is one of my oddity deck building challenges - create a mono-green deck without any meat based creatures. plants? no problem. fungus? more the merrier! Elves? get the F*&# out of my forest.

- Ramp:

without lanowar leafblower or his ilk around, the mana ramp is mostly land fetch in the form of Kodama's Reach , Cultivate , and a few creatures like fertilitid. once the deck gets going, however, it takes off with great speed.

- Removal:

sadly, Treefolk have never been the best at creature removal. So they had to add a collosium to challenge their rivals to duels. Fair warning - this card is amazeballs. Swing, and before before blockers are delcared activate arena (choosing one of your guys already attacking). This combo will get through alot of things, especially with trample and or regenerate. Silvos, Rogue Elemental is a good canidate for this reason. Lastly, they ended up with a WMDs to use as a final resort.

For artifacts and enchantments, treefolk have been tearing it up for generations, from their elders to their leaders . Creatures are a mite harder to remove, but once they pass, they tend to not return

- the swarm:

With the bountiful land all around them, it's no wonder that the treefolk of Lishar started spreading out in force. to that end, the deck holds a great many swarmers, like Avenger of Zendikar , Mycoloth , and even some good old thallids! . saprolings are the prefered, mostly because the general can turn them into hulking monstrocities in short order, but even plant tokens have their place in this army (usually as devour / chump fodder).

- Draw:

Loreseeker's Stone is a decent end-game draw card, as it allows you to go all in and keep refilling your hand. it is costly, however, so you may want to wait it out with Skullclamp on saprolings. If that doesn't work, you may have to tell them a story and hope for the best. Lastly, the all important Harmonize for mono green.

- AND STAY OFF MY SKY!:

Whirlwind can act as a one sided wrath if your opponent's are running Wonder or something similar, and Predator, Flagship has a handy 5 mana kill effect that's colorless. and it has a built in tractor beam to get them in the air if they don't. how handy! Spidersilk Armor alows the trees to stop those pesky dragons with impunity. oddly enough, for a deck with only ground pounders, it handles fliers with remarkable ease.

Sideboard is for cards for consideration, Maybe is for altering my restrictions (ie, if I count single celled masses as "meat", and fungal controlled insects / spiders)
