Update: We’re married now.

I built this deck for my girlfriend. Her brother and I play Magic together and he could never get her to play. I asked her what kind of wizard she would be if she could be a wizard. She said she wanted to control birds. I spend several months leading up to her birthday researching cards from my sweet desk job. I tried to make it as straight forward as I could so she could understand her entire deck. I also focused on abilities that eliminate some of the most annoying abilities or exploit some of the best rules of Magic.

FLYING- When all your creatures fly you're pretty much unblockable to most opponents.

VIGILANCE- I wanted this ability so she could afford to be aggressive without risking herself. I knew as a typical girl she would never attack if she knew it left her open to be hit. BTW: Vigilance and flying work great together.

FIRST STRIKE- Cherry on the shake. This protects her from trading creature for creature and protects her from deathtouch.

UPDATE: The deck is made. I gave it to her a few months ago and she loves it. Complicated cards are kept to a minimum. Shes a pain to fight. Everything seems fine until you realize that you can't block her and you can't even get a free swing. She rarely has to tap and usually has first strike. It's very fast and consistent.

It's still missing something though. Maybe more lifelink? She's good enough now that some complexity won't ruin it for her. So far her life gain is in Elixir of Immortality and Arctic Aven
