Muldrotha the infinity

Muldrotha, the Gravetide

He is one of the best commanders of the moment, much for his skill that makes him a multifaceted commander, and this is a very restricted lot of commanders who enjoy this advantage!

I like this commander a lot and I have some decks with him and I have seen some very interesting ones, but most of them in the wave of good stuff or focused on themes.

In this deck I will try to create something more competitive, focused on Muldrotha's ability, and at the same time make the commander a winnier condition.

TURBO RAMP:

The only Muldrotha, the Gravetide's weaknesses is her CMC 3. It is a high cost when this abiliity is to Play card´s from your graveyard: you will need 6 mana for Muldrotha, the Gravetide + Mana for the cast´s to start using his skill, which is a lot of mana... So I tried: 32 lands chosen to be useful when they enter the battlefield, Supported by 9 Mana creatures and 8 Mana Rock + Carpet of Flowers. Which makes 50% of the deck based on mana and ramp.

STAX TO CONTROL:

To not miss the objective of Muldrotha, the Gravetide (play permanent cards), I didn't overuse counterspells and other insta / sorcery speed magic. Instead, I introduced some permanents that help to control opponents without being detrimental to the evolution of our game:

Contamination Is One of the biggest nightmares for many decks, especially mono-blue. With a lot of mana solution on the deck, it will hardly be mana-blocked (I even considered putting Sunder in this slot!).Is Upkeep cost (Sacrifice one creature) It's not a problem. Do not be afraid to use it in an early stage of the game, even if it is to tie opponents one or two turns while gaining an advantage. You sacrifice Contamination so that when the Muldrotha, the Gravetide is on the battlefield, you can re-contaminate the table.

Mindslicer It's one of my favorites ... Do you remember talking about Sunder ...? Are you thinking the same as me ...? Opponent No hand, no lands = Endgame. For Muldrotha, the Gravetide it makes no difference if your game is on the graveyard or in the hand ...

Zur's Weirding A very big problem for opponents, not so much for Muldrotha, the Gravetide as the graveyard is your second hand. It has more impact when you have mana advantage, preferably that you can have Muldrotha on the field.

Notion Thief Delaying the evolution of opponents, accelerating ours is an excellent strategy don't you think? Cards like Windfall, Arcane Denial(The deck's only counterspell insta-speed) help to complement this strategy.

Aether Spellbomb To deal with indestructible creatures or difficult to stop at moment of game; To return a creature to our hand protecting her or even to gain another trigger; or simply to win an extra draw. A lot for an artifact that costs so little.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: Ashiok, Dream Render; Karn, the Great Creator; Oko, Thief of Crowns.

WINNING THE GAME:

I created the deck focused on the combo:Muldrotha, the Gravetide+Kaya's Ghostform+Lotus Petal+Phyrexian Altar - Sacrifice the Lotus Petal to give mana of any color; sacrifice the Muldrotha, the Gravetide enchanted with Kaya's Ghostform for the Phyrexian Altar; Muldrotha, the Gravetide returns to the battlefield, enchants again with Kaya's Ghostform and returns Lotus Petal. Repeat the process infinite times to give infinite mana of any color.

with the combo you can use the infinite mana for Walking Ballista and win; You can use the infinite sacrifice of the combo for Bitter Ordeal or Gonti, Lord of Luxury and exile all opponents' libraries.

If you dont have this cards in the hand, with the combo you can draw your deck with Coiling Oracle/Baleful Strix/Greater Good/River Kelpie/Aether Spellbomb to find a way to finish the game, Or Just simple play Thassa's Oracle.

With the combo and Eternal Witness, you can use everything you have on the deck infinite times.

There are also shortcuts to get to your destination faster with... Tutors: Demonic Tutor; Diabolic Intent; Entomb; Intuition(search 3 cards... the combo have the commander more... 3 cards! Ups!); Razaketh, the Foulblooded; Sidisi, Undead Vizier; Vampiric Tutor; Wishclaw Talisman.

Test: * Thassa's Oracle + Tainted Pact Another way to win.

  • Time Warp to infinite extra turns (with Muldrotha and Eternal Witness and Card with Sacrifice ability)
