0-3, Heliod the Sun Crowned vs Muldrotha

Things didn't really get off the ground here. The first two games were over by turn 8-10, pretty consistently hitting me for 10-15 damage after turn 6 and not being able to stop it. In the last game my opponent was able to fish his graveyard with a Land (something Sky Ruins), then used Karmic Guide to fish another creature. Then lifelink caused him to spike to like 90 life which caused a creature who's power/toughness to be equal to his life to end the game. Between Heliod being indestructible and creatures getting boomeranged back on the board my deck was just outclassed.

Afterthoughts:

  • I need to get through my deck faster. Should we be looking at burning cards faster by utilizing dredge?
  • I am not doing enough damage at this point to reliably threaten other players. The raw reality is I am hardly doing damage at all. I am still pondering if this is because of running too lean on creatures?
  • I am struggling to decide how to move forward with board wipes. On the one hand being able to clear the board and rebuild with Muldrotha is very powerful. On the other hand the board wipes as a whole do not capture enough cases to make them effective for me. The inability to handle Indestructible or Lands that can return creatures from the Graveyard makes my board wipes a liability to me when I consider I can only protect Muldrotha from their effects with Kayas Ghostform. Unless I am misunderstanding something the math just doesn't work either:

The objective currently is to get Muldrotha on the board as quickly as possible, which with my deck is generally turn 5/6. If I start wiping the board I need to have protection in my hand or in my graveyard within the first 6 turns to not nuke my own Commander. With 7 cards at the beginning, and 6 drawn in turns, I need appx 8% of the deck to be focused on destroy-specific protection to have a reliable chance of protecting her by the time I am ready to smoke the deck. More protection is just better too I think, I need my Elementals who are getting proliferated to be able to stick on the board even when I'm blasting other folks off of it.
