2nd Place at first tournament —March 5, 2017
First Frontier tournament this deck came second.
It worked exactly as I wanted it to.
Match report to follow.
Scatter to the Winds makes it a 0/0 elemental - it won't be an 8/8.

Ah yes, good call.
Tbh most of the time I'm hitting a Darksteel Citadel that isn't Ensouled, so I'm getting an Indestructible 0/0 with three +1/+1 Counters.

Yeah, that's good anyways. I run a modern version of this deck in red and blue - it's so fun. If you're willing to splash with fastlands, try Shrapnel Blast.

ostewart this started life as an Izzet deck, but I found that it was more consistent as Mono-Blue.
I didn't just want to make Mike Sigrist's deck.
Also, having an unblockable subtheme meant I needed at least six lands that produced no colour.
Having that in a dual-coloured deck is tricky.

The Clash is so good in Game 1.
It's a real tempo hit.
Dissipate would not be my favoured choice anyway. I'd go Disallow over that.

Let me preface this statement by saying that I know the card is jank in general, but Mirror Mockery is great on Whirler Rogue and passable on Chief of the Foundry depending on matchup and board-state. It's also incredible at stopping Siege Rhino and such from attacking. With unblockable creatures, it can end up pretty close to a blue Pacifism.
In the end though, I know nothing about Frontier, so feel free to ignore haha

the.beanpole I'm always on the lookout for Jan cards!
I'm fairly happy with what this deck is doing, at the moment.
It's precision balanced and I don't think there's really a place for another Aura.
The Aura I use, Ensoul Artifact, basically only works because I can put it on an Indestructible Darksteel Citadel. That stops the usual two-for-one problem that most Auras have.
Mirror Mockery is certainly an interesting idea, though. Have you made a deck with it?

The deck I had made was in ORI/KTK/BFZ standard: A Twin's Esteem, A Mirror's Mockery.
Not the best deck at the time, but was really different and fun.

The Sideboard is going to need the most tweaking.
It was set up for the ORI meta, and the Frontier meta will probably be very different.
