The main mechanic of this deck is to gain life and thereby put counters on creatures.
We get the lifegain through enter the battlefield trigger from Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant or Daxos, Blessed by the Sun. Daxos, Blessed by the Sun also gives you life, whenever something on your side dies, but is somewhat limited by its legendary status.
Linden, the Steadfast Queenis his super wincon, especially in combination with Basri Kets second ability. Furthermore Linden, the Steadfast Queen triggers when you declare attacker, which is really strong in combination with Heliod, Sun-Crowned.
With the gained life, you get counters on Ajani's Pridemate and despense counters with Heliod, Sun-Crowned and get counters on all your creatures from Archangel of Thune (she is incredible!). In addition, Ajani, Strength of the Pride generates more Ajani's Pridemate.
Utillity is provided from the incredible card draw of Well of Lost Dreams and lifelink from Heliod, Sun-Crowneds activated abillity or Shadowspear. Giver of Runes can give a creature protection from a colour OR collorless, either ignoring blockers or protecting it from removal. Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx fits great into this devotion deck and ramps to a win easily.
You get additional important lifegain triggers from Radiant Fountain and Kabira Crossroads.

Last, but not least 4 hard-removal from Path to Exile.
It's very fun to play, you get a ton of live and huge creatures. It consistently wins at turn 5, when it won't be stopped.
