Hi folks!

Throne of Eldraine is around the corner and the spoiled cards fitting into a Mono Black shell are getting better and better. Mono Black Control looks like a really strong deck so far (even without all cards being spoiled yet). Here I want to craft and discuss a Mono Black Control deck for Throne of Eldraine Standard. I will keep posting updates with new card choices and new potential cards being spoiled!

Some thoughts and intentions:

Only Yarok's Fenlurker has less than 3 toughness and makes Cry of the Carnarium a one sided sweeper most of the time.
Witch's Cottage is a swamp and triggers Dread Presence .
Cavalier of Night , Dread Presence , Murderous Rider and Ayara, First of Locthwain provide lots of lifegain to safely make it to the lategame or to cast a huge Command the Dreadhorde .
Ayara, First of Locthwain + Dreadhorde Invasion as carddraw and drain engine. Drain for 1 and draw an extra card every turn? Sign me up!
Disfigure can be used as a nice setup for big Massacre Girl turns.

Final adjustments — Sept. 27, 2019

I made some final adjustments after seeing the first standard decks on MTGGoldfish (https://www.mtggoldfish.com/tournament/fandom-legends-september-26-2019#paper). I extended the discard package in the sideboard against those Control and Planeswalker Decks (also 2x Elderspell). I brought in Epic Downfall to fight those huge creatures in Golgari Midrange. Witch's Vengeance should be awesome against Knight Tribal decks. I included RItual of Soot in the Maindeck, because Aggro seems to be popular (Rakdos, Mono Red, Knights, ...). I'm trying to collect this list asap on Magic Arena and share the results with you guys! Can't wait to finally try out what I've been crafting the last weeks :) Thanks again for your feedback <3
