This is a pretty fun, yet extremely linear mizzix deck. I prefer Mizzix as a big X spell burn deck, but this is unfortunately not that deck. This Mizzix deck can do some nasty things, just like all of the others can do.

The focus of this deck is to storm off as early as possible, chaining 1CMC to 2CMC to 3CMC and so on. It is possible to go off as early as turn 3, but 4 and 5 are your best bets. This is a CEDH adjacent deck I would say, it isn't by any means perfect or tier 1, but it can get there if needed.

When to take or not take a mulligan is vital with this deck, though many of the opening hands can be kept even if it is less than ideal

Best opening hands include;

-- three lands, at least one can tap for red mana

-- 1 mana rock, the two best are Sol Ring and Mana Crypt but any in this list will do

-- a 1 CMC spell, a 2 CMC spell and a 3 CMC spell

Mulligan when there aren't any spells to cast on 2 CMC. Getting Mizzix out early is important so prioritizing mana rocks over spells is fine when putting cards on the bottom after a mulligan.

Play mana rocks before Mizzix comes out, try and hold spells back unless you need to dig for lands or rocks or something else. Turn 1 and 2 should either be land+pass or land+rock.

After casting Mizzix be sure to cast as many sorceries on the same turn or turn after as possible, as you might expect instants should be saved until the last moment before your turn begins.

Try and hold back Gush in the early game, putting yourself off mana can stifle later turns.

The cards you should be digging for are one of the following;

--Aetherflux Reservoir

--Mizzix's Mastery

--Rise from the Tides

--Mind's Desire

With any of those in hand the road to victory is held in your own hands.

There are two halves to going off in this deck, storm or cumulation of spells.

Storm

The storm win cards are Mind's Desire and Aetherflux Reservoir. They prioritize playing lots of spells in the same turn which make cards like Turnabout and Reality Spasm excellent to play after a load of card draw spells as they can untap your lands! Casting a large Epic Experiment can also assist here before landing casting a Mind's Desire or after running out a reservoir.

Cumulation

If you want to win with a sort of multi-turn storm strategy, then Mizzix's Mastery and Rise from the Tides are what you are looking for! The mastery can be difficult to cast, so be sure to prioritize red lands over the abundant islands so it can be cast easily. Also be sure to cast rise from the tides before casting mastery, as mastery will clean out your whole graveyard making for a sad, sad zombie horde of nothing. Using Mystic Retrieval and Call to Mind any spell can become powerful, but it makes things like rise from the tides that much more potent!
