Why wait until turn seven to play Omnath, Locus of Rage when you can play him much earlier (As early as turn 3)? As long as Magic has been around players have been trying to find the best ways to cheat in extra mana each turn and kill their opponents that much faster.

That search is over. Based on Mina & Denn's Supermassive Landmass

Deck Overview Show

This deck is all about cheating in as much mana as possible and making explosive plays with it. Cards like Scapeshift , Amulet of Vigor , Genesis Wave , etc. are our key pieces in making this happen. We also have a few combos that most of the time end the game for us quickly.

You can easily make this deck extremely explosive in timing your activation of abilities, casting of cards, and attacks around your land placement.

So why choose Mina and Denn, Wildborn ?

First of all, a four-cmc commander that allows you to play an extra land each turn and make your big beaters more lethal by moving lands back into your hand is any landfall deck's dream. They also produce fairly consistent value for card advantage such as Garruk, Primal Hunter and Rishkar's Expertise .

Card Selection: Lands Show

In this deck, you have 15 basic lands. Six of these are mountains, which play a big role in fueling Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle

• Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage : Dark Depths and Thespian's Stage is a very powerful combination because if you use Thespian's Stage 's ability to copy Dark Depths , they both get sacrificed. Since the copied Thespian's Stage had no ice counters on it, you're able to create your 20/20 flying and indestructible avatar. This usually can end the game pretty fast.

• Dryad Arbor : This is a very nice piece for ramping because you can get it turn one with Green Sun's Zenith and have not only an additional land, but a creature presence on the board. In addition to this, it is a fairly expendable resource for cards like Natural Order and recursion targets for Crucible of Worlds .

• Gaea's Cradle : No explanation needed. This is just an amazing card.

• Ghost Town : This card combos very well with Burgeoning and a landfall outlet ( Primeval Bounty , Horn of Greed , Omnath, Locus of Rage , Avenger of Zendikar ).

• Gruul Turf : Bounces a land to our hand for more triggers and is pretty neat with Amulet of Vigor in play.

• Hanweir Battlements : Being able to give your Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger haste can be lethal.

- Khalni Garden : Serves as an early game blocker, an additional Avenger of Zendikar token (essentially), a target for Natural Order 's costs, and another Regal Force card. Pretty versatile land!

• Mosswort Bridge : Amazing card. Allows you to get any card (including lands, mind you) and play it once you control creatures with total power 10 or greater. You can activate this ability fairly frequently, especially since Mina and Denn, Wildborn have a base power of 4 and your deck is swarming with creatures.

• Radiant Fountain : This is one of our more common lands that we want to put back into our hand so we can continually gain (up to) four life each turn.

• Taiga , Stomping Ground and Cinder Glade : These are our common dual fetch targets. Our deck runs a total of ten mountain cards (including Sheltered Thicket ) for the sake of Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle . These are just better because they also produce green mana.

• Vesuva : See Thespian's Stage . This is just the slightly better version because it can combo off for tons of damage with Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle and Scapeshift

Card Selection: Hatelands Show

- Blast Zone : Seems like solid removal for the format, plus it still produces mana.

- Glacial Chasm : This deck features quite a bit of lifegain, so while you build up your land base you may be slightly vulnerable. Ward off those attacks only as long as you need to, then sacrifice Glacial Chasm on your upkeep and wreck some havoc on your opponents.

- Scavenger Grounds : It's always smart to have graveyard hate in commander (especially when both Chainer, Dementia Master and Karador, Ghost Chieftain are in your meta).

- Strip Mine : This is a better Dust Bowl and one of my favorite recursion targets. With Crucible of Worlds out, I can use Strip Mine two or three times a turn and (on a few occasions) completely shut my opponents out from mana.

- Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle : This card gets pretty outrageous when combined with Scapeshift and ten mountain cards in the deck. It's even better when you have a copy of it using Thespian's Stage / Vesuva and can make it a one-sided boardwipe or an unexpected elimination. With Scapeshift , all of the mountains ETB at the same time, so you can deal a massive amount of damage, only improved when you have a Vesuva -like effect to double (or triple) that damage.

Card Selection: Recursion Targets Show

- Blighted Woodland : Good card for early-game ramp, and is one of my favorite recursion targets when I have Rampaging Baloths out or another powerfull landfall effect.

- Sheltered Thicket and Tranquil Thicket : You can get good value off of these cards by cycling them and then playing them later.

- Wooded Foothills , Windswept Heath , Bloodstained Mire , and Misty Rainforest : Fetch lands that are reusable and combined with a landfall effect can win games. Especially valuable recursion targets with any token-generator or a Primeval Bounty -type effect.

Card Selection: Ramp Show

- Amulet of Vigor : Lands like Gruul Turf are better when they come into play untapped, just saying. This also has a crazy effect with Scapeshift and Splendid reclaimation. Always a go-to win for this deck. This is undoubtedly one of our best ramp cards for making explosive and unpredictable plays.

- Cultivate and Kodama's Reach : These are useful pieces of early ramp that gives us a land now and one to play next turn if our deck is screwing us over with mana.

- Genesis Wave : This is also one of our go-to win conditions, as it allows us to not only play all of the lands that we reveal with the effect, but play any other permanent that we run into. Keep in mind, we run cards like Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger and Ulvenwald Hydra ...

- Krosan Tusker : This card is almost always cycled for an extra card and an extra land, but it isn't too shabby of a find when you're casting a card like Genesis Wave .

- Lotus Cobra : Every time you play a land, you get mana. That's invaluable ramp right there. However, Lotus Cobra is easily removable and should be protected in the early game.

- Nature's Lore : Good ramp, plus it gets us one of our duals or Dryad Arbor .

- Nissa, Vastwood Seer  : Funny thing is, I don't play Nissa thinking to myself that I'm going to flip her. I more use her for ramp and as a blocker to keep myself alive. However, there are times when preserving her and going for the flip is quite useful, so it's all about using your best judgement.

- Pir's Whim : This is an extremely versatile card because it combos into the tutors and hate sections. You can get the land of your choice and also remove some of those pesky artifacts and enchantments that your opponents control.

- Realms Uncharted : Also combos nicely with the tutors section. This card is extremely good at getting your combo pieces for to spawn Marit Lage (if you have land recursion), or get cards like Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle or Gaea's Cradle out. Again, this card is best when you have access to land recursion!

- Sakura-Tribe Elder : Decent ramp and also doubles as a blocker and early board presence if needed.

- Scapeshift : Very Explosive card, I think I've already talked about it enough.

- Traverse the Outlands : Five mana for a consistent four lands is a pretty good trade. Also has the potential to be much bigger depending on our board presence.

Card Selection: Extra Lands Show

- Azusa, Lost but Seeking : Usually she doesn't live very long, but an extra two lands per turn can out us extremely far ahead in a match.

- Oracle of Mul Daya : Allowing us to play an extra land each turn and play these lands off the top of our deck is very useful. Each land that we can cheat into play from our library increases our odds of drawing a card that we actually want.

- Burgeoning : Combos nicely with Ghost Town and is very good combined with Mina and Denn, Wildborn 's second ability. Excellent early-game ramp that can put us very far ahead of our opponents.

Card Selection: Recursion Show

- Crucible of Worlds : Having the ability to play land cards out of our graveyard can make our fetches quite powerful landfall triggers, and can also allow us to reset the cumulative upkeep cost of Glacial Chasm . Lots of versatility with this card.

- Life from the Loam : Simply a good, reusable recursion card.

- Ramunap Excavator : Basically a better Crucible of Worlds because it can also be sacrificed for Natural Order .

- Splendid Reclamation : This card is great even if you only have three lands in your graveyard, but I more commonly use it right after casting a Scapeshift with an Amulet of Vigor out to get a crazy number of lands back into play untapped.

Card Selection: Tokens Show

- Avenger of Zendikar : Having tons of land out and getting a token for each of those lands is powerful on its own. Combined with its landfall effect, Avenger of Zendikar takes the #1 place in this deck, allowing for quite big and powerful attacks. In addition to this, it can create a large amount of mana combined with Gaea's Cradle and huge plays to win the game with Craterhoof Behemoth . To get the most value out of this card, cast it before you play your land(s) for the turn and don't cast it off of Natural Order unless you have over seven lands.

- Craterhoof Behemoth : Self-explanatory; big plays with big big creatures. Bye, opponents.

- Dragonlair Spider : These abilities can become extremely oppressive when playing in a four-person pod. Having tons of tokens (not to mention green tokens) at our disposal makes cards like Craterhoof Behemoth even better.

- Nesting Dragon : One of my favorite token generators because it produces lots of blockers that turn into better tokens once they die. The only downside to this card is that the tokens aren't green...

- Rampaging Baloths : The original landfall token generator from Zendikar. Fairly impressive when you can play two or more lands per turn with some Mina and Denn, Wildborn ability activation.

- Omnath, Locus of Rage : Great card that produces green tokens and has a very powerful ability that can deal tons of damage when combined with a mass removal spell (i.e Blasphemous Act ). It is reccomended that you have a plan to protect him once he is on the board, because he is a huge removal target.

- Zendikar's Roil : Creates green tokens that also benefit from Omnath, Locus of Rage 's second ability. Also not as easily removable as our other token generators.

Card Selection: Card Advantage Show

- Courser of Kruphix : Cheating lands in off the top of your library plus a life landfall trigger is pretty nice for three mana (plus it's a green creature!).

- Garruk, Primal Hunter : Probably the most versatile card in this deck. You can either use his minus three right away to get a nice draw, get some tokens, or pump up to his ultimate and get a better Avenger of Zendikar ability. Either way, a consistent four-draw spell for five mana is good.

- Horn of Greed : Group hug + Tons of draw = Huge Advantage. An unlikely removal target early in the game, allowing for more ramp and more explosive plays sooner.

- Nissa, Vital Force : A more versatile Horn of Greed once she goes ultimate, and is also decent grave recursion as well. However, she is a huge removal target and her +1 doesn't impact the game very much (unless you have Gaea's Cradle out).

- Regal Force : Pretty nice card draw with all of our green token generators.

- Rishkar's Expertise : Nice draw spell that also allows us to play something we just drew for free (I'm looking at you, Scapeshift / Zendikar's Roil .

- Sylvan Library : Green's best draw card, a must-have in any part-green commander.

- Tireless Tracker : A slower landfall draw card, but has potential to become big quickly. One of my favorite mid-to-late game tutor targets, once I have a boatload of lands and mana to fling around.

- Yavimaya Elder : A decent bit of ramp plus card draw, what's not to like?

Card Selection: Protection Show

- Archetype of Endurance : A great target for Natural Order and can make our deck nearly unstoppable combined with a card like Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger .
