Belbe's Portal and Quicksilver Amulet to help you cheat out your critters and throw a wrench at a counterspell strategy.

Nice one MogMan696, I like both of those. Any thoughts as to what I should pitch to make room for them?

Mordant Dragon gives you another creature-burning dragon to take advantage of double strike.

Knollspine Dragon gets you cards, although it might draw you TOO MANY sometimes.

Imperial Hellkite is an expensive way to tutor dragons, but it works.

Hellkite Charger because there's no such thing as too many combat phases.

...and if you're crazy enough to snowify all your basic lands you could totally run Rimescale Dragon.

Those are some spicy suggestions xcn, cool. I think I might swap out a few of the less interesting dragons for some of those nutbars. Rimescale Dragon is pretty funny - Tempting!

Id be tempted to play Wild Pair here. Most of your dragons are 4/4, 5/5 or 6/6 so everyone you cast will bring out another.

Also, Quicksilver Amulet and Elvish Piper would likely do work for you. Sneak Attack too if you've got it in the budget.

Oh man, yeah. Wild Pair would be potent in here. I don't have a Sneak Attack but that would be stellar for obvious reasons. I may have to pick one up. Now to make some room...Does anything jump out at you as out of place/unnecessary? Thanks MindAblaze!

Id be leaning toward Dolmen Gate although I do see the point. It just seems unnecessary when you're probably planning to have double strike as much as possible.

Obelisk of Urd is the other one that jumps out at me. You wont often want to be convoking, so 6 mana is a heavy investment and sits at an awkward spot on your curve. You also have Crucible of Fire, Door of Destinies and Coat of Arms providing anthem effects.

Oh, also if you have Cavern of Souls it couldn't hurt.

Good calls MindAblaze! I was on the fence about Obelisk as well, I'm swapping it out. I fully agree re. Cavern, so much so that I already had it in there haha.

Weird, tried to add Wild Pair but it's defaulting to the Maybeboard. The card count is off too. Anyway, WP is not a maybe, it's in there!

Chameleon Colossus and other Changlings a practically tiny dragons in of themselves. Taurean Mauler will always be a great three drop in a red tribal deck. Also, the new Destructor Dragon would fit well.

Xenagos, God of Revels so when your Commander attacks, he can kill in 1 go...

January 7, 2015 8:43 a.m.

themindxyz says... #13

EddCrawley he already has it. it is at the bottom of his creature list.

January 7, 2015 8:52 a.m.

You don't need Atarka in the list of creatures and as the general, so you can add another card. I'd suggest more dragons but all the ones I can think of you already have in here. Sick deck, yo.

+1 for the dragons.

There have been some glitches in a few decklists lately that are similar to this. (Commander in the decklists and adding things to the maybeboard.) Yeago has already been notified.

Yeah, I had posted on the TappedOut forum to inform about the deck shenanigans a couple of minutes after someone else had. Got a minor dis for the double post but hey, at least they're aware! Wild Pair is not in the Maybeboard, Atarka is listed in the Commander field, not the main decklist.

CallMeCrazySam, Zirilan of the Claw & Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx are both good calls...Cuts are starting to get tough now.

Thanks ThisIsBullshit! It's not the most technical deck on earth but I think it will be fun.

January 7, 2015 1:42 p.m.

Cryptic Gateway might be a good alternative or addition to Belbe's Portal

January 7, 2015 1:43 p.m.

Forkbeard says... #20

Agreed, the changelings could be sweet in here too themindxyz, I'm just not sure what to take out to make room now. Destructor Dragon is pretty cool, also nice to have another green badass in the mix. Maybe!

I thought about Cryptic Gateway, but I was hesitant about the tapping creatures part. There's not much more to this deck apart from crushing face as soon as possible before it gets controlled out so perhaps the creature tap action would be detrimental. I may be wrong about this!

January 7, 2015 1:54 p.m.

Riptide Replicator is great for making little baby dragons. Not sure if that is absolutely needed though. I just like tokens :)

The one problem I anticipate you'll see with this deck...retribution. Unless you're one-shotting people you're going to start fighting a multifront war and have to be prepared for it. I goldfished this deck a few times and aside from a flood of green mana (Skyshroud Claim isn't as good when you don't have a Taiga to fetch,) it played really well for huge damage in chunks.

January 7, 2015 3:27 p.m.

Forkbeard says... #24

That's awesome feedback MindAblaze! I agree with your comment about leaving myself open to retribution. I suppose that's the nature of this style of deck - It's probably not capable of nuking the whole table at once & subsequently leaving yourself spent, allowing others to steamroll in. I don't play a tonne of FFA matches. I play a lot of 2-headed giant & 1v1 so I'm hopeful this could fare well there.

I laughed at the "flood of green mana" comment. I wondered if that was going to be the case with a couple of the chosen ramp spells (Nature's Lore + Skyshroud Claim ). Did you snag the Stomping Ground at least? Do you think it's a legit problem for the deck or was it more of an observation?

LittleBlueHero, I don't think I've seen that card before. They're trying to brew up a cute little sliver! I'm not sure if it warrants a slot in here but I definitely like the card.
