Maybeboard

A land chucking deck with lots of ramp and card draw.

I went through and did a major overhaul on the deck.

First off, I increased the number of cards that either increased land drops or mana produced from lands. To make room for these cards, I removed some of the ramp cards attached to creatures. I also added some mana generators in hopes that if I go all in with the land pitching via Storm Cauldron, I'm not mana screwed. I may add a few additional mana dorks if I find I need them.

To play nice with Omnath, Locus of Rage I included a few more elementals or cards that made elemental tokens. I may increase this number if I can find some that are synergistic with the theme. Omanth's first ability is the primary reason he's in the deck. Additional elementals, especially smaller ones, will make opponents reconsider their blocking strategy. Liege of the Tangle turns any number of lands into elementals which makes for a decent alpha strike. Tilonalli's Summoner is repeatable elemental token generation. Since these tokens are low in toughness, they die easily. The wise move would be to absorb any damage they deal than let Omnath's second ability trigger repeatedly.

To increase the threat of Borborymos I added Mage Slayer and Scouting Trek. When Borborygmos is equipped with Mage Slayer, a direct hit pretty much eliminates an opponent automatically from Commander damage (two lands pitched will do the rest). Scouting Trek combos nicely with Keen Sense, Snake Umbra, or Countryside Crusher.

In terms of removing cards, most were easy choices. Thrun was cool, but didn't fit the theme. Two that were hard pulls were Squirrel Wrangler and Constant Mists. With Crucible of Worlds, the buyback cost from Constant Mists was easy to maintain and allowed me to last until the long game. Squirrel Wrangler was more of a fun card. I loved the image of sacking lands to make a horde of squirrels that overwhelmed my opponent. It paired nicely with Dunes of the Dead with the ever popular Crucible in play. What's more deadly than a horde of squirrels? A horde of squirrels AND zombies. Yes, I am THAT guy. Both may find their way back into the deck.

I've significantly added a number of cards to the Maybe Board. In my research for this deck, I saw quite a few cards that would be perfect, but I don't have yet. I'll be getting these in the near future as they're all relatively cheap.
