Designed for mid-power games as defined by PlayEDH--very expensive cards and highly-efficient wincons are deliberately excluded.

AKA Chad Chad (not really)

This deck was inspired by Magic the Noah's video, "How to Play Like a Chad," which gives the following advice:

  • Play mono-green because it has big creatures.
  • Always full-swing (math is for blockers).
  • Play Wood Elemental.

Now, I've deviated from his advice in a couple of ways, but I still mean to keep in the spirit of the video. I'm running Fynn and a bunch of creatures with deathtouch, which aren't, strictly speaking, big creatures, but they accomplish the same thing and allow the pilot to full-swing with confidence. Math is still for blockers; it's just not primarily about the amount of combat damage dealt. I did work in big creatures where I felt able. I'm also not running Wood Elemental because it didn't fit the theme and wouldn't be especially big.

You might see that preview picture and assume I picked it out myself. I wouldn't blame you for thinking so. I didn't pick it out; TappedOut did. All I did was change it back to the old art when a new Cultivate came out because the old art was perfect for this deck.

I've let other people pilot this deck against me, and it's an absolute nightmare to play against. If you don't keep playing creatures and letting them die blocking Fynn's deathtouchers, it'll take you out of the game quickly, and because it's a poison deck without much proliferate support, it's incentivized to focus on one opponent at a time. The only way to stop getting focused is to take the Fynn player out as quickly as you can, so the Fynn deck tends to either win or lose pretty quickly and to have a huge impact on the game even if it loses.
