Mercenaries may have been the red-headed stepchild tribe in a red-headed stepchild of a set, but any tribe with Cateran Overlord is fine by me.

We're trying to break out of the classic Mercenary woes by supercharging things with Thran Turbine - asides from the lone Strongarm Thug, every creature in the deck has an activated ability! When you're allowed a full set of Sol Rings, you can freely recruit more creatures for card advantage, or pay for the upkeep cost on a Molting Harpy or Pit Raptor without cutting into your mana base. Silent Assassin takes out blockers and Rathi Assassin wipes attackers, keeping your opponent at bay while your cheap flyers and critters with Fear pick away at his life total.
