Maybeboard

Gather 'round y'all and listen to these old records!

For those of you who are not the aware, the Masque Block (Prophecy, Nemesis and Mercadian Masques) was Wizards' attempt to hit the panic button and reset Magic after they pushed it A BIT too far with the Urza block in 1998. The result was an entire year's worth of famously goofy and weak cards, so who would ever care about those?

I WOULD. And here we are.

So, what does this deck do? I'm glad you asked!!

The Unholy Trio of the Early Game is here, that is Rishadan Cutpurse, Rishadan Footpad and Rishadan Brigand to hopefully keep opponent's boards on the slimmer side.

Cheeky spellshapers like Devout Witness, Stronghold Machinist, and Overtaker to complicate you opponents plans further.

And if those don't work, there's always Crackdown, Embargo and Rising Waters to really slow them down! And speaking of Rising Waters, which shouldn't inconvenience you, dear reader, thanks to Cloud of Faeries, Peregrine Drake and Great Whale (Turnabout too;) if there was EVER a time to use the greatest Magic card of all time, Piracy, THIS IS IT!!!

Alexi, Zephyr Mage (more spellshaping!) and Wave of Reckoning to clear some creatures, Reconnaissance to avoid the consequences of your own actions, Common Cause and Ramosian Rally so you can actually do damage...

And use Ancestral Knowledge, Coastal Piracy, Citanul Flute and the MOST LEGITIMATE Rhystic Study to find all your pieces!

Yeah! You'll probably lose, but you will get to wreak some havoc while you're still around! Embrace it, and have some fun! And maybe, just maybe, Wizards could do something like this again.

You know, soon.

Please.

(Look, they've said we're just as likely to visit Segovia as we are to see anymore cards with Annihilator or Storm, which, no matter what the player base or format stability seem to want, continue to make appearances, so just give me my set full of teeny li'l sea monsters already!!)
