With Kaldheim two new pre-constructed Commander-Decks were published. For me both Decks had real potential so I tried to build Decks around the two new Commanders. This is the second of these two Decks resolving around Lathril, Blade of the Elves and his Token creating ability. The whole Deck is an Elf-Tribal Deck using many cards of the forementioned pre-constructed Deck and filled with other Elves from different editions. The main aim is to create as many Tokens as possible, to overrun the opponent with my army. Additionally I can damage the opponents whenever a creature dies . Some Combos including Nim Deathmantle , Priest of Titania , Ashnod's Altar and Staff of Domination were included to be able to react to different Board States.
This deck resolves mainly around creating a giant army of Elves either by creating Tokens or by playing as many Elves as possible. Therefore I included a whole lot of different Elves, which can also help to play other Spells since they function as Mana-Jerks. Furthermore I included several Lords which can pump my Elves or can grant some Evasion, to help finishing of my opponents. If the combat damage strategy isn't available the Deck can use an Aristocrat theme to sacrifice the Elves and generate value out of these sacrifices. This theme is caried out by some of the included creatures as well as artifacts and enchantments.
I tried to play only Elves which can help me by achieving my goals. Each Elf can be included into at least one of the following categories Mana-Jerks (e.g. Boreal Druid ), Token-Generators (e.g. Wolverine Riders ), Pumper (e.g. Elvish Archdruid ), Tutors (e.g. Elvish Harbinger ), Sacrifice-Outlets (e.g. Izoni, Thousand-Eyed ), Sacrifice Payoffs (e.g. Skemfar Avenger ), Card-Draw (e.g. Beast Whisperer ) or Lifegain (e.g. Wellwisher ). With the help of these many different Elves I'm able to react to different situations on the battlefield and each creature is able to help with winning the game.
This deck plays some artifact and enchantments which mostly help with the Aristocrat-strategy, pump my Elves or are Helpers for some nice combos. The classification is as follows:

  1. Aristocrats: Ashnod's Altar , Phyrexian Altar , Serpent's Soul-Jar , Elderfang Venom and Moldervine Reclamation
  2. Pumper: Pride of the Perfect and Prowess of the Fair
  3. Combo-Enabler: Instill Energy , Nim Deathmantle and Staff of Domination

This Deck can start different combos which are described below:

  1. Genarate infinite Mana with Staff of Domination , Elvish Archdruid and four other Elves. As soon as the Elvish Archdruid , alternatives can be Priest of Titania , Wirewood Channeler or Marwyn, the Nurturer , can tap for at least five Mana the deck produces infinite Mana with the help of Staff of Domination . Since the Staff needs to untap a creature and to be untapped by himself. With this Mana you can either Draw your entire Deck, generate a giant army of Tokens with Imperious Perfect or use the ability of Lathril, Blade of the Elves multiple times.
  2. Another combo can generate infinite die trigger and infinite Tokens with Ashnod's Altar , Nim Deathmantle , Nadier, Agent of the Duskenel and at least one other Elf. If you sacrifice the other Elf and Nadier to Ashnod's Altar you can generate at least 3 Elf-Token. The can be used to activate the ability of Nim Deathmantle and get Nadier back onto the battlefield. Now you can sacrifice one Token and Nadier to Ashnod's Altar and start the chain from the beginning. If you have something like Ayara, First of Locthwain or Moldervine Reclamation on the battlefield you can drain your Opponents directly or simply attack with your giant Token army. If you have only Phyrexian Altar on the battlefield you need at least three Elves besides Nadier to start the chain, but afterwards it functions nearly identically. Unfortunately you can't generate infinite Token with Phyrexian Altar since you have to sacrifice all three generated Tokens.
The remaining spells consist of Removal, e.g. Putrefy or Eyeblight Massacre , Token-Generators, e.g. Elven Ambush or Elvish Promenade , or some Graveyard-Recursion, e.g. Raise the Draugr or Haunting Voyage . Since this deck contains a big number of creatures the slots for non-creature spells are very limited and with the inclusion of the combo-pieces this space is further scaled down.
All in all this deck runs pretty smoothly even though nearly 60% of it's nonland cards are creatures. I was always a big fan of Elf-Tribal-Decks and with the help of Lathril, Blade of the Elves we got a nice new Commander for this type of Deck. The combination of Black/Green opens up many options which weren't able with Mono-Green. Combining the different new cards from Kaldheim and Commander Legends with some spicy old Elves leads to some serious explosive turns which can flood the board with an absurd amount of Elves. The small Downside is that the deck lacks a bit on the Removal and Card-Draw part.

Updates Add

I chose to include Rings of Brighthearth and Illusionist's Bracers to be able to copy the ability of Lathril, Blade of the Elves. Therefore I removed Timberwatch Elf and Lys Alana Huntmaster from the deck.
