Sideboard


This is a highly competitive Memnarch deck for EDH format. After exclusively playing Memnarch for the better part of 2 years, I've scoured the web for combos, synergies and scrapped bits and pieces from several different sources. I've found most deck builds with Memnarch online to be pretty handicapped and/or were really limiting what Memnarch could do as far as winning fast and combo'ing out. This deck build bridges that gap and puts Memnarch into a turn 2 or 3 win (and can be won on turn 1 with a God draw)

In the next section, I will be walking you through the combo pieces and how to use them. Most of these combos are centered around getting infinite blue mana or infinite colorless mana and filtering it to make it blue; then casting memnarch and taking all the permanents on the board. I'm going to assume you semi-know enough to pull off these combos explained verbatim below, without me having to go into excruciating detail.

1.) Pili-Pala + Grand Architect + 1 Blue Mana = Infinite Colored Mana

2.) Great Whale + Deadeye Navigator + 7 Lands (at least 2 islands) = Infinite blue mana

3.) Great Whale + High Tide + Capsize + 7 Islands = Infinite blue mana

4.) Great Whale + Any Mana Doubler + Capsize + 7 Islands = Infinite blue mana

5.) Palinchron + Deadeye Navigator + 7 Lands (at least 2 islands) = Infinite blue mana

6.) Palinchron + Any Mana Doubler + 6 lands (at least 1 island) = Infinite blue mana

7.) Power Artifact + Basalt Monolith + Gemstone Array = Infinite blue mana

8.) Rings of Brighthearth + Basalt Monolith + 2 mana + Gemstone Array = Infinite blue mana

9.) Power Artifact + Grim Monolith + Gemstone Array = Infinite blue mana

10.) Power Artifact + Basalt Monolith + Mycosynth Lattice = Infinite blue mana

11.) Power Artifact + Grim Monolith + Mycosynth Lattice = Infinite blue mana

12.) Rings of Brighthearth + Basalt Monolith + Mycosynth Lattice = Infinite blue mana

13.) Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal + artifact that taps for 2 + any creature or artifact that taps for 1 blue = Infinite blue mana

14.) Paradox Engine + Capsize + Enough mana producing artifacts/creatures to make 6 mana (at least 2 blue) = bounce all permanents back to player's hands as much as you want each turn

15.) Paradox Engine + Doubling Cube + Capsize + Mana producing artifacts = Infinite mana and bouncing

16.) Mind Over Matter + Temple Bell = Draw your entire deck and make everyone Mill out their deck.

17.) Staff of Domination + Infinite Mana = Draw your whole deck or gain infinite life

18.) Blue Sun Zenith + Infinite Mana = Draw your entire deck or make someone draw their entire deck

19.) Nevinyrral's Disk + Darksteel Forge + Mycosynth Lattice = Destroy everyone's permanents except yours

20.) Nevinyrral's Disk + Darksteel Forge = Infinite board wipes

21.) Myr Battlesphere + Nim Deathmantle + Krark Clan Ironworks = Infinite Myrs and colorless mana

22.) Cathodion + Nim Deathmantle + Krark Clan Ironworks = Infinite colorless mana

23.) Static Orb + Clock of Omens = Lockdown/Board control to a large extent

Now a lot of these combo pieces can work in tandem with each other. Combo synergies are very good with this list. And I'm obviously not going to list every single possible combination with the above. But these are the man staples nevertheless. Ulamog makes your deck impossible to be milled out, so go crazy. I've never had a problem winning on turn 3 or 4 (even against Zur or other t.1 commanders) Nobody ever really gave Memnarch the respect I think he deserved, and I'm sure a lot of you will read this list and think of something you would wanna do different; and that's fine. But this is my battle tested list and it performs great.

I wanted to put this list out here to at least get the ball rolling for anyone who wanted to get started on their own deck build. I've teetered on using more counter spells in the deck (I have run heavy and non heavy counter spell versions) I've found that I only ever wanted the counter spells to protect my combos. So I wouldn't need an extra 15 floating around and clogging up my deck.

I'm sure I'll update it as more comes to change or I find a better strategy.
