The Oldest Bloodline

The first member of the Sengir family appeared in MtG in the very first set, that card being Sengir Vampire. Since then, very few other cards have been printed referencing the Sengir bloodline, with the exception of the Homelands set. This means that, for a long time, the family was led by Big Papa Baron Sengir. However, with our return to Dominaria, we see a new leader rise...

The New Kid

Kazarov, Sengir Pureblood has arrived to lead the Sengirs into battle! He brings about a voltron-ish strategy while giving the family access to red magic. This lets us use spells like Chandra's Ignition(which papa loves), Blasphemous Act, and a tutor for Darksteel Plate and Blackblade Reforged in Godo, Bandit Warlord.

The Other (Legendary) Sengirs

Baron Sengir: Can win a lot of games on his own with proper protection. As the original leader of the Sengirs, you can trust this guy if Kazarov just can’t do it.

Irini Sengir: Pretty decent hate for the Karametra, God of Harvests decks, or really any white or green decks seeing as they typically have the strongest enchantments

Veldrane of Sengir: Pretty much only in here for flavor, but he can be pretty decent with a Blackblade Reforged in hand.

Grandmother Sengir: Only in here for flavor. She doesn’t contribute at all most times to the board, as she’s gone mad thinking -1/-1 actually means something in EDH

The Gameplan

The plan is very simple: Summon Kazarov, protect Kazarov, grow Kazarov, then kill with Kazarov. The deck plays very controllingly, so I’ve included a whole lot of board wipes to make sure the state is just right for the big boy to come out! If possible, you want to be able to bring out Kazarov and equip him with Darksteel Plate/Swiftfoot Boots/Lightning Greaves in the same turn. If that doesn’t work, Baron Sengir can win the game on his own if you can tutor up Chandra's Ignition, and Veldrane of Sengir can maybe do some damage against green decks if equipped with Blackblade Reforged.
