  • Aether Vial is SO overpowered, especially now flashing in nasty spirits that can really make Hatebears brutal in Azorius.

  • Leonin Arbiter is the Head Partner here at the Agency and he has been making people miserable for years! He's also an asshole, and we have been talking about him behind his back all this time.
  • Meddling Mage is not only the origin of the deck's name, but enables me to completely stymie an opponents plans.
  • Geist of Saint Traft supplies the finishing blow.

  • Thalia, Guardian of Thraben is the General Manager and she doesn't take shit from anyone!

  • Thalia, Heretic Cathar is the newest realtor we have here at the Hatebear Estate Agency, and she has made a fabulous first impression on us all! Tapping down creatures and Non Basics makes turn 2-4 just agonizingly slow and dreadful to experience.

  • Reflector Mage is an all-star and he doesn't take NO for an answer! If there's a creature (client) that he does not like, then you can be damn sure they will NOT EVER RETURN!
  • Spell Queller has fast tracked itself into Employee of the Month territory. Why worry about having to stop a specific spell, when you can just flash in a body that EXILES it! So much hate on such a killer little spirit.

  • Mausoleum Wanderer has added itself into the team of the one-drop spell haters--only THIS little thing gets bigger and BIGGER the more spirits you throw down! Plus the added bonus of making the opponent pay more and MORE for spells.
  • Selfless Spirit a neat new way of getting indestructible which protects all my agents at least from combat damage. Swing for two damage in the air as well so...win-win.
  • Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit is just so much value in this set-up, and supplies me with that little extra push with her Bolster trigger. Works within my minor spirit tribal to get those Wanderers higher for more counterspell taxation too.

    • Because everybody knows that the bird is the word! A-well-a, bird, bird, b-bird's the word

  • Moorland Haunt makes all my hatebears hate you back from the grave!

    • Triggers Mausoleum Wanderer too for those rare opportunities of being 3/3 or higher.

  • Eiganjo Castle saves my Geist and the new THALIA, as well as Anafenza. So many purposes this castle has!
  • Ghost Quarter is land destruction at its finest.
  • Flagstones of Trokair as a target for myself in a pinch, or for an opponent.

    • Arbiter locks out searching so playing this can be tricky if first learning to pilot the build.

  • Ethersworn Canonist starts us off by being the bitch of all hatebears. She shuts down combo, storm, Living End , etc. What more could you want!?

  • Rest in Peace comes next to shut down graveyard shenanigans.
  • Kataki, War's Wage Makes the spirit tribal stronger while shutting down Affinity (well, slowing it down like--having your boot stuck in the mud)...LOL
  • Spellskite because you can never have too much targeted protection. Also works great while Canonist is lingering around.
  • Pithing Needle shuts down more lands, planeswalkers, creatures that do nasty things, whatever floats your boat.
  • Hushwing Gryff is a non-bo for us but completely hoses your opponent as well. Don't fear it's power after you've named the best cards with Meddling Mage .
  • Vryn Wingmare Because Thalia deserves a GODDAMN MOUNT! Don't like all the taxation? -- WELL TOO FUCKING BAD!
