Ah, Edgar Markov, everyones favorite most hated vamps commander. I'd like to preface this with a general warning.

THIS DECK IS A PROTOTYPE

Meaning if you build it as is, right now, it's going to be quite underpowered (or at least less than it could be). Some swaps I'll be making in the future (when the cards come in the mail) are...

Undecided noncreature out, Sanguine Bond in. Undecided out, Necropotence in.

All that out of the way, even as is, this deck performs INSANELY well in its current build, it could just be better :)

In the way of strategies, this deck is moderately straightforward, mostly just abusing ETB, LTB and passive triggers to slowly burn your opponents while keeping your life up and pumping your creatures, done best with cards like Blood Artist, Cordial Vampire, Viscera Seer and Ill-Gotten Inheritance to name a few. Of course theres anthems, mostly on sticks, and good ol' 2 card combos.

Okay well really only ONE "combo" with different payoff routes. My go to is Exquisite Blood + Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond ... maybe theres a reason that one is so expenisve huh?

Beyond those, I run what I would consider a "synergy" more than anything, that being Approach of the Second Sun + Demonic Tutor , that just WINS outright, assuming no one has a counterspell.

Other than that it's simply mob-rush with a fun theme, and plays like it reads. If anything goes south, theres sac outlets like Viscera Seer that can HOPEFULLY pump an Elenda, the Dusk Rose before she goes bye-bye and gives you some tokens.

V1.2 Edit

With the addition of Children of Korlis and Phyrexian Processor theres now a combo that could reasonably take a player out of the game, plus a synergy that can just get you a BUNCH of good stuff for basically free. The combo being Children of Korlis + Exquisite Blood + Phyrexian Processor or alternitavely Children of Korlis + Phyrexian Processor + Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose . Basically, hope you've been gaining enough life to be above 40 (this deck deos so quite well, no problem), drop processor paying 40, then nuke your Children, thus gaining 40 and getting an EB/Vito trigger. Even better if you have both out, then you can kill 2 birds with one Processor. You can also cheese this a bit using Bolas's Citadel + Children of Korlis to freecast the top of your library and hope you dont whiff.

V1.3 Edit

Rhystic buddy came in the mail today! Super stoked to finally have an Esper Sentinel. The pure card advantage is why intead of a creature as I expected, I actually cut Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, an old hangover utility land from when I ran Pestilence. With that gone, Urborg was just taking up a utility spot, and i cant think of a better utility that card Rhystic Buddy :)

V1.3.1 Edit

So looking over this, I'm starting to realize just how much life this deck pays to do things, especially if I bite the bullet on a Necropotence. Perhaps Font of Agonies would be a wise drop in? Ture, at minimum I'm paying 4 life and (1)(B) to remove one creature and this deck totally lacks proliferate, so it IS a 6 for one, but when, at any given time, the deck is gaining MEGA life and pumping it into Bolas's Citadel... it almost seems negligable... also yea I'm contemplating NecPot...

V1.4 Edit

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! Mail day came and went, and guess who got cards? I got cards :) I decided to cut Act of Treason for a good ol' Anointed Precession to double my tokenage, as well as slipping in a Smothering Tithe (albeit at the cost of cutting a swamp :/) because, hey, tokens. As well, Command Tower went and Strip Mine is IN. Mostly as a deterant, it'll be a nice bargaining chip. I also picked up a promo Reliquary Tower just to be fancy about it (also cus it was like, $8). Beyond that, I've decided Necropotence is a MUST, especially now that I have RTower, and it'd give me an excuse to run Font of Aggonies for some spot removal. I really like how this deck is shaking out, but at this point I have adult money (lets go $1.50/hr pay raise) so if yall know any cards that I'm somehow glossing over, please inform me! Yea so... I totally spaced updating this for a while, and have COMPLETELY lost track of cuts and ins, other than Mana Geode coming out for an Honored Heirloom. That said, I realized "Hey maybe cutting lands for things ISN'T wise!" so I totally reworked my manabase up to a better number and included some kinda recurable land poping in the form of Petrified Field + Strip Mine . Theres also a few new plainswalker buddies, including everyone's (least) favorite, Sorin Markov. Who DOESN'T love pay 6 and drop your opponent to 10? I've decided that Font Of Aggonies isn't really worth it when I can just swing something chonky in, but Necropotence is still in the cards... pun intended :)
