This deck is focused on getting Marchesa onto the board, getting +1/+1 counters onto creatures any way possible, then using one of the many sacrifice outlets or board wipes and take advantage of creatures dying and re-entering the battlefield. I love having creatures that are so hard to deal with, and nearly impossible to get rid of, while throwing board wipe after board wipe and death/etb triggers at my opponents to slow them down even more!
Our own life is used early on as a resource to put counters on creatures and draw cards, which also allows us to maintain the dethrone ability and ensure everyone will come back, and each time they do come back, there will be consequences for our opponents!
Ramp: Dockside Extortionist,Gadrak, the Crown-Scourge, and Mahadi, Emporium Master are heavy lifters here, providing treasure tokens left and right. There are also a lot of two drop mana rocks, some of which are great early on to keep us off the throne for early game +1/+1 counters.

Marchesa's own dethrone ability does a lot of the heavy lifting as long as we are not on the throne, typically at the beginning of the game, but here's some others to help out:

Marchesa will protect our creatures, so boardwipes don't really affect us. The same cannot be said for our opponents, an advantage we have to utilize:

Here's a few of the other cards that really add some synergy and squeeze out extra value:
Spark Double can come in as a copy of Marchesa due to the "nonLegend" wording and add protection in case Marchesa is taken off the board without a counter or bounced.
Thundering Raiju can become big aggro hitsticks, which also doubles, dealing out damage to players due to the counters
Kethek, Crucible Goliath, Deathrender, and Sneak Attack can help cheat out more creatures every turn.
Herald of Secret Streams helps by making creatures unblockable, which can definitely be a wincon for this deck.
Glen Elendra Archmage is a counterspell on a stick!
