The idea is to utilize +1/+1 counters and Marchesa's third ability to get free value from sacrifice effects. If marchesa is out, you want to be sacrificing your own creatures almost non-stop, because Marchesa will just let those creatures come back. There are many acts of treason effects in the deck, because if you can steal an opponents creature, put a +1/+1 counter on it, and then sacrifice it, that creature will return to the battlefield under your permanent control. Enchantments wile unspeakable symbol and attrition really shine, and meager creatures like carrion feeder and pyreheart wolf turn into absolute monsters. Life total is preferred to be maintained lower than the opponent, so shocklands, painlands, and other life costs are heavily used in the deck. As long as Marchesa is on the battlefield, most of your creatures are very resilient to "destroy" board wipes like Nevinyrral's Disk. Notice that Marchesa's resurrect ability will trigger on herself if she is destroyed, and will also trigger on all creatures that die at the same time as her.

Although this deck performs very well in its current state, it is comprised of cards that I own only, so there is a lot of room for improvement in the manabase and in the creature selection.
