Long Overdue Update —July 24, 2018

Notable inclusions:

Mother of Runes

Master of Cruelties

Virtus the Veiled

I've included this package of threats to both bolster the deck's defences and increase its aggressive potential. Mother of Runes, Sword of Feast and Famine and Sword of War and Peace all enable regaining of Monarch and big chunky hits.

Reverberate

I've been trialing this card recently and it has overperformed. Lots of flexibility because at the very least you can copy your own spells.

Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs

Just a chunky monkey for extra protection. I'm always putting this fella in and taking him out - but he is back in for the moment.

Cleansing Nova

I really like this card and its replaced Fumigate. Lifegain was often helpful but the option to wipe artifacts and enchantments is much stronger.

Kaya, Ghost Assassin

Love this card and was finally able to pick one up in paper. Its a super resilient and flexible Planeswalker that does everything this deck wants to do. The fact that the -0 can exile other creatures until your own upkeep is fantastic.

Notable exclusions:

Ankh of Mishra

Manabarbs

Spellshock

The deck is slowly moving away from group slug and towards combat oriented gameplay with a tonne of resilience. I've found that a lot of EDH games have drifted away from creatures and combat so this build of the deck can operate really well as my opponents often don't have many creature threats or blockers. I still love these cards and they have migrated to my Inalla pain deck.

Future changes:

I am looking to include Burning Wish in the future to provide for a lot of situational spells such as Merciless Eviction, Rise of the Dark Realms and Insurrection.

Also I want to include Land Tax when I can trade for one.

No suggestions, just wanted to say that I like this deck and I very much like your mindset. Keep it up.
