[[altar of bone]] —March 20, 2019

replaced Farseek with Altar of Bone. after re-building the deck i was wondering why i was 1 card too many. then i realized i didnt have the altar of bone included which was weird because it was in the deck for years...

huh, now that is a really good way of doing things with marath as far as I can tell, different stuff, but a lot of the time better than what I thought of, As far as I can tell, having Primal Vigor as a third copy of sorts of doubling season is almost worth letting the opponents get the effect too, but then again, havn't had the opportunity to use it yet, so parhaps not. overall great token marath build, +1 :)

One card I found that may combo really well with this deck seems to be Tempt with Vengeance going along with the token spam theme and they do have haste. something to think about. Out of curiosity, how often have you seen Luminarch Ascension go off, I seem to never get the time to pull it off... :)

That, and Rith's Charm pulls it's own weight in here too.

Actually quite a bit for the Luminarch Ascension and people tend to waist their removal spells on it keeping the enchantments I really want out longer. I tend to play with cards that don't help out the other players idk why that's just how I play. I wish Rith's Charm destroyed an enchantment that would be sweet.

I like what you're doing with tokens in this Marath deck. I love how hilarious cards such as Avenger of Zendikar , Assemble the Legion , Goblin Assault and Marath's Token Ability are with Doubling Season /Parallel Lives /Primal Vigor along with Purphoros on the battlefield. I have a Marath deck as well, and would love to build it around cards that have great synergy together. Making a card like Goblin Assault , which I wouldn't add for just It's ability alone, pinging my opponents for 4-12 each turn and putting 4-12 counters on each creature I control each turn sounds VERY fun.

Adding a Basilisk Collar would turn Marath into a handcannon able to nuke half the field. Also, Seedborn Muse with Ivy Lane Denizen / Doubling Season would let you double Marath's tokens or +1/+1 counters on each of your opponents' turns. Creature searches are also huge in decks like these, so Chord of Calling and Summoner's Pact are pretty useful.

I see where your coming from with these suggestions. None of these are bad, and I will greatly consider putting them in

Chromatic Lantern can really help a three color deck out and Mana Echoes works great with Marath.

i know! i wanted to throw Hardened Scales in the deck but i just felt like for only adding 1 +1 +1 idk. i have a play set of them i guess i could try it but i have just been liking the way the deck plays as is... good suggestion though.

i just like it for pumping marath 1 for 1 permanently. remove a counter to put a counter on marath and get two . i love it for end of turn before me mana dump.

Earthcraft + Squirrel Nest is a 2-card infinite combo...and you already have the expensive piece.

Crop Rotation to find your Gaea's Cradle. Spawning Pit protection of sorts from board wipes. That + Doubling Season is can get out of hand really fast. Someone plays Terminus you then sac all your creatures to the Spawning Pit then make even more new tokens and your commander ins't tucked under your deck.

crop rotation is really good i have had it in my head to throw it into this deck i just dont know what to take out haha, the age old dalema. I usually play reactivly so i almost always have mana up and in that case i can just take the counters off marath before a tuck spell resolves... but i like the idea of spawning pit, that and assemble the leagion can get out of hand.

Secure the Wastes is in my opinion an easier to cast and will have the greatest chance of building a big board for you in the mid - late game when compared to White Sun's Zenith is only really a blowout during the late game stage of your mana base. White sun is deffinitely more costly but sometimes putting 3-4 soldiers into play on turn 4 with a hero is enough to make up that difference.

You're playing more fetchlands than me and you have horizon canopy and a gaeas cradle to protect it strikes me as rather silly you don't have a Crucible of Worlds in here.

that's what Sun Titan is for to get back my fetches and other stuff I don't want to waist two slots that do the same thing, plus its an agro deck so having a creature that does it works better.

however, good call on the Secure the Wastes I didn't know about that card and probably will take out cat sun's for it. however, White Sun's Zenith is reusable... options.. thanks for the help.

I feel like Sun Titan has better things to do than return fetches and if you get crucible and titan and thats somehow the best target you still net two lands a turn. Also Strip Mine dickery without needing to go to combat.

Rings of Brighthearth and Illusionist's Bracers are often autoincludes in Marath.

My enchantments are better and are harder to get ride of. I do get your point tho but I wouldn't want to take anything out right now for those cards.
