Maybeboard


I have other decks that are fun and jank. I want something cruel now and borderline CEDH so I can play in those games as well.

Any advice would be great, I have never played CEDH so I am trying to trim mana cost and stay on task. The win here is just tipping board balance in my favor, Ending the game on one of the X spells. Any advice or help would be great. Thanks!!

This is the commander I want to play and I want to stay monoblack, so I would like help to stick to those criteria.

I am not playing any proxies, however I might make some for the super expensive cards for some swap outs if the table Im at is using proxies. Yawgmoth's Will - Chains of Mephistopheles - Mox Diamond

Some combos I might use: (different combos may require extra lands open to start or enough swamps in play for coffers)

Chain of Smog + Professor Onyx = Cast on yourself infinite times and deal 1 damage per cast with professor.

Rings of Brighthearth + Deserted Temple + Scorched Ruins = infinite colorless mana then Bog Initiate or loop on Swamp ... Tergrid's Lantern   win.

Rings of Brighthearth + Deserted Temple + Cabal Coffers = Tergrid's Lantern   win

Rings of Brighthearth + Basalt Monolith + Bog Initiate = Tergrid's Lantern   win.

Umbral Mantle + Magus of the Coffers = Tergrid's Lantern   win

Maralen of the Mornsong + Opposition Agent = soft lock

Bitterblossom + Contamination = soft lock

So I was able to trade for a few more cards and the idea here for this update was more consistency at the price of some utility... I will play test and see if I have made this worse or better.

Remove - Burglar Rat I have plenty of discard and I felt he was an acceptable loss for one more swamp. - Bojuka Bog to slow, the utility of it has not been more useful than a land I can use when it drops. - Command Beacon I have found that the colorless mana has held me back more then needing a swamp, my commander isn't super expensive to start with and I have reanimation if needed. - Emergence Zone Has never been useful, I have had no reason to waste 2 extra mana to do something at instant speed. - Strip Mine This one was harder but, based on my games I always rather have the extra mana then fall behind to slow one player. - [Can't Remember] I removed something for Morbid Opportunist, I just can't remember right now.

Add + Bloodstained Mire Helps with consistency + Polluted Delta Helps with consistency + Lake of the Dead It does set me back a land, however I am able to sac a tapped swamp. Also the 4 for 1 seems like it will be clutch. + Swamp x2 To help with mana consistency. + Morbid Opportunist to help with card draw, I found myself gassing out.

Lastly I am considering Pestilence over Desolation. Desolation has burned me a couple of times where I lose a land and it gets destroyed and Pestilence might be more helpful with board control.
