Updates Add

I haven't been on tapped out in a while, but now I finally got around to recording the updates to Atraxa! :)

There were no new exciting cards to add to this deck from Theros: Beyond Death.

In Core Set 2021, there is one new planeswalker joining the Atraxa crew... you guessed it, Basri Ket. Basri is not amazing, but he is better than Ajani Goldmane. I was only playing Goldmane for his -1 ability, because with Atraxa, Preator's Voice in play, I could activate that ability every turn, giving all my creatures a +1/+1 counter every turn. I have never used either of his other two abilities in a game, as I never need to gain two life, and I would almost always rather make my stuff bigger than make a Serra Avatar token. Now, with Basri, I can give my Atraxa a counter as a +1. While this doesn't give all of my stuff counters, like I could with Ajani, all of Basri's abilities are good. So, say goodbye to Ajani Goldmane.

Also, I have made a slight change to the deck that doesn't have to do with Core Set 2021. I found that in a lot of my games I was ending up with a lot of value in my hand, but I wouldn't be able to get it all out. This is not necessarily to say that I was mana screwed— just that I had so many good 4- and 5-drops that I couldn't play them all. I am cutting two of those cards: Deepglow Skate and Master Biomancer. Biomancer, while good, is awkward at 4 mana, since I want to be playing my commander on 4. Once I have my commander down, if I spend turn 5 playing biomancer, it ends up not getting too much value, and I would rather play a different creature. Deepglow Skate is simply not as good as I imagined it to be. While it has the potential to be extremely explosive, it usually isn't. I am adding in Birds of Paradise and Hangarback Walker. Birds is good early ramp, and Hangerback Walker is a good play on turn two. Overall, these changes make the deck less awkward, and more able to get all of the value that it is capable of.
