Okay so hear me out...we play Human Tribal in Pioneer and try to compete with this ramp shenanigans with a very aggro tribal shell. We want to go under our opponents in the first few turns to establish board control, going wide is the strategy here. And do you know what human that makes more humans is good with??? Multi-coloured spells!

The not so colourful part of the deck is mainly designed to act as an engine to provide our way to find the pieces we need in a game and to flood the board. These cards are so good that they don't need to be multi-coloured for have a place in this deck and more importantly, my heart.

  • Hero of Precinct One is a powerhouse in most multi-colored decks due to how quickly in can pop off leaving your opponent with a board full of 1/1s. But not just any 1/1s! They're humans baby and that means we get a whole load of fun.
  • Thalia's Lieutenant is why Hero is so good in a humans deck but unfortunately it isn't multi-coloured which means there is no trigger off Hero but certainly a lot of counters later on. This card is pretty good with even 3 or 4 creatures in play which makes even better with lots more creatures.
  • Thraben Inspector is the last mono white creature for the deck and although it lacks synergy with Hero it makes up for it by being an amazing 1 drop and cheeky card draw enabler.
  • Treasure Cruise is the key to maintaining all the fuel we need to go through removal and hate. Drawing three cards from the creatures that've died and any other noncreature spells in our yard means we can stay in the game even after getting "blown out".

The golden cards in this deck merely support the main strategy and are generally just great cards to play in general as they have powerful effects or abilities that strive in most situations.

  • Mantis Rider was good enough for Modern Humans and sure as heck is good enough for Pioneer. A keyword human that has Flying and Haste is a really good creature to play on turn 3.
  • Reflector Mage is where our creatures are just straight up bombs, returning a Walking Ballista or Tireless Tracker is just really good in the style of deck.
  • Stormchaser Mage is nothing but a pure aggro card for the build. Haste - hell yeah, Flying? - mhmmm and PrOwEsS - you know we're gonna take every point of damage we can.
  • Jeskai Charm is the card that wraps it all together, burns the last few hitpoints like Boros Charm if need be, pseudo removal but most importantly it pumps the whole team to close out the game andddd it gives our creatures lifelink in the aggro matchups.
  • Boros Charm seemed to me a good sideboard card in certain matchups until I realised the protection and damage output that indestructible or double strike can give any creature in our deck. If we've cast one other noncreature spell before combat, double striking a Stormchaser Mage is better that just hitting our opponent for 4. The option to dome your opponent for 4 also adds that extra reach I've found this deck needs.

That overall is pretty much the deck, all the lands are designed to give us no worries with mana although it can be kinda painful in the first few turns. Fast lands are just great, luckily we have two different kinds instead of none (rip enemy colour pairs for most land sets in pioneer). The sideboard is really a work in process and what I would enjoy the most to hear suggestions for. No Meddling Mage makes me sad but the deck is still sweet.
