So far, the legendary creatures of this set are underwhelming (for cEDH). At best, Rashimi (I think) is the only thing that seems to break out of T5, but everything about her is balanced. Everything out of non-supplemental products seems balanced/underpowered as of late. Leovold feels like the only shiny thing printed in the last while.
Thoughts?

merrowMania, Yo, Leo was just printed. What do you want, a million new awesome commanders? Slow your roll dude.
Ohthenoises, Sadly Madcap is in red, the color the most wants lots of artifact support. Maybe a
/
/X deck that likes playing big artifact creatures so you can have non-artifact ramp? Ruric Thar maybe?

Also we're getting two versions of Nissa and Chandra? Wat...?

September 6, 2016 2:43 p.m.
sonnet666 Chandra Pyrogenius and Nissa, Nature's Artisan are from the new Dual Deck, they are standard legal, but are deliberately underpowered so that they do not effect standard much. The 4 mana chandra, and Nissa Vital Force are actually in Kaladesh set.
And speaking of Nissa, Vital Force... Happy fucking birthday Azusa. Hot damn.

sonnet666 - I was more talking about non-supplemental pro.........As I was writing my response, I remembered that The Gitrog Monster is from SOI. Then I felt silly...I guess I just want more interesting cards (not necessarily good, but unique). I don't know why I talked about Leovold when I was talking about non-supplemental products. Maybe I'm annoyed about leaving a 'high power' block (SOI) and entering (what I believe to be) a 'low power' block, Kaladesh. Thanks for pointing out the oddness (Is that a word? Oddity? I think 'oddness' works :P ) of my statement. I'm probably going to take another hiatus from cEDH until I figure myself out. I may chime in every now and again, but college and is starting to make it harder :(
I expect more brews by my return, so get to it XP

Enlightened Tutor and Madcap Experiment makes anything you want. For only
added to the cost. Sounds pretty damn good to me.

I think set is actually pretty great for EDH, just not for competitive EDH. Lots of cool jank I'd love to try to build around.
Speaking of jank, is Animation Module breakable?

Hey all im trying to finish a debate with a friend of mine. Its of which tier 1 Commander/Commanders people think are like the absolute best, I tend to lean more towards the storm/doomsday ones like Zur and Jeleva and he thinks that Prossh/Karador are better what are your guys opinion?
September 7, 2016 2:33 a.m.
Personally, I believe Zur is the best. I am probably biased as he is my favorite, but I have to say that he is my favorite BECAUSE I believe he is the best. He can go multiple directions, you can never know which Zur you are facing until the cards come out.
While other Tier 1 decks are still awesome, (obviously, they're Tier 1), they typically have the same style of play. Once you see the Commander, you can typically figure out what their game plan is going to be, and with enough experience, what you have to do against it.
I also like to look at which Commanders will win the most games when put up against each other. I believe that Zur can have answers for most if not all of the other decks. I look at 1v1 matchups, (not this discussion), and 4 Player pods. I've seen games of 16+ players, but I only factor 4 player pods as that is how Multiplayer tournaments should be set up.

I second iAzire. Prossh/Karador bring the same game each time and with consistency comes predictability. Zur CAN be built a few ways and still hold power level along with (at least for the first game) a surprise element. I guess the one and only way to determine the best of the best is to make all the decks play against each other hundreds of times and see who averages best.

brago stax has always seemed good (read: the best) to me, it is an easier stax build to pilot imo, and it gets some really nice locks. im a bit biased though, since i mainly play stax or dd. i feel like it is between grixis storm, brago, zur, and karador. but that's just me.

I can fully agree with brago stax, or at least slug, being really real. you can easily run static orb and lots of mana rocks and oops, you've won. Its glorious.

It may sound strange but I feel like Yisan is the strongest. (Yes, biased)
There are so many different ways to win and the deck is INCREDIBLY flexible, the core is like literally 10-20 cards, most of the rest is up to your meta. Also, Yisan is usually the one that people look to for responses at a table.
However, that flexibility doesn't negate the consistency of the deck, because the deck is so toolboxey. Always having the answer to any given situation always 3 mana and a tap away is really strong.
Yisan Stax is also silly, cradle + winter orb = lawl

Wat indeed, Oloro players usually have some lifegain strategies so they just have to get up to 50, double it a few times and then they get to instantly off the table.

i mean, it can only hit one person at a time, however infinite life combos now have purpose, but it makes slorolo even harder to kill (it would be funny if it was banned in french)

Seems good. Not exactly AN, because you can't put your entire deck in your hands, but this should make it possbile to cheat some huge artifacts on the battlefield for really cheap. I don't know cEDH wise, but dropping a Blightsteel Colossus turn 2 would be pretty awesome in my opinion, in something like a spellslinger deck with only very few artifacts. Or a Platinum Emperion, for the life thing. Could be good in something like Daretti to hit a stax piece early.
